  • Unpacking Resolution 167
    Dec 18 2023

Resolution 167, issued on 27 November 2023, effectively requires all certification bodies to begin using the new OASIS database. To help understand what is mandated, we spoke with IAQG’s Certification Oversight Team Lead, Pete Cracknell (BAE Systems).  In addition to understanding why the resolution was issued, Pete pointed out temporary assistance the Team is permitting to help ease the potential backlog of data entry some CBs are faced with. Two notable permissions include allowing others (designated by the CB) to enter data on behalf of an auditor and accepting PDF files in certain instances. Listen today to learn more.

  • OASIS V3 - Questions Answered
    Nov 14 2023

OASIS V3, the latest Online Aerospace Software Information System, has been in operation for a few months. This new version is a re-platforming, so while the work performed is the same, how you use the OASIS platform (and what it looks like) is different. In this episode, we talk to Greg Fontaine (Jaspin Interactive), IAQG Digital Focal, and Jake Lewin, CEO for Intact US – developers of OASIS V3, to understand what users are finding challenging when performing their work. We asked the questions and received answers regarding:

    • Initial login complexities
    • Limited or no organization visibility after login.
    • Limited or no audit detail visibility after login
    • Obtaining access rights for an organization
    • How to open a ticket

We also asked our guests if they have seen actions users are doing that have led to errors or issues on the new platform. Take a listen.

  • Delving into the differences between ISO 9001 and EN 9100
    Jul 11 2023

In this episode, we talk with Gaëlle LeBouar about the differences between ISO 9001 and EN 9100 and how they complement each other.

ISO 9001 certification signifies a company's commitment to delivering consistent quality products/services that meet customer expectations based on the seven principles of ISO 9001: customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision-making, and relationship management.

Specific to aviation, space, and defense (ASD) products and services industry, the IAQG 9100 standard (EN 9100, AS 9100, and JIS Q 9100) provides definitions and topics to address sector-unique requirements. Important topics within 9100 include operational risk management, configuration management, control of externally provided processes/products/services, and nonconformity treatment process.

We explain the distinction between the 9100 ICOP Scheme and the "traditional" scheme. Additionally, we learn how OASIS (Online Aerospace Supplier Information System) plays a crucial role in sharing accurate supplier information and simplifying the certification process.

Being ISO 9001 certified demonstrates a commitment to quality management, while the 9100 certification specifically validates compliance with aviation, space, and defense industry standards.

Listeners will gain insights into the significance of ISO 9001 and 9100 in quality management, particularly for aviation, space, and defense products and services sector.
