This is one of my favorite chapters because it introduces the science fiction magic system that Enki and others will do some pretty cool things with. The terminals are a pretty integral part of the story from here on out, so its nice that they have come into play.

Welcome to the second chapter of Lightseeker. Six months have past as Enki has studied. Now on his way to the college to leave for his conscription.

The chapters of Lightseeker are around 2000 words, that does not sound like much, but it is crazy how hard that can be to write when you want to, much less when you do. I wrote them this way because 60,000 words was my original goal, and that makes a nice rounded 30 chapters.

Lightseeker: Catalyst opens with Enki, a Baseborn college student, studying at the Lightborn college. Due to his Baseborn status he’s ridiculed and isolated by his Lightborn peers. Thanks to the high societal status of his mother, Enki is fast tracked through the college. The world is a mix of fantasy and sci-fi, and its in a dystopic world.

The intro does the heavy lifting of a hook, and the first chapter is admittedly a bit slow paced. I promise, once it gets going it does not stop. Not a great structure for modern markets, but those are the stories I like writing. Enough reading by your eyes, let my my eyes, and voice do the work for you, enjoy.
