  • The Crew Room
    Jan 27 2026

Major aviation incidents can floor a crew member. Whether that's an extended stay on your layover, or something as life changing as 9/11. These big events can completely change airline policies and safety regulations, and how flight attendants and pilots work.

But some things never change, and that's the cabin crew's ability to make the best of a bad situation, and the call of The Crew Room is usually there to help the crew debrief, let loose and forget the big stuff, even for a short while.

In today's episode of The Red Eye, we visit The Crew Room during several different major aviation events. And hear the true story of what really takes the strain on behalf of the crew...

    Jan 20 2026

Celebrities have to follow the rules like the rest of us, but that doesn't mean that a few of them don't put up a fight!

On today's episode, we hear the true story about a celebrity who refused to comply with not just the cabin crew's requests, but the Captain's too! She was determined to prove that she was in charge, and knew aviation safety procedures better than anyone else and it was left to the flight attendants and flight crew to come up with a creative way to get her to sit down, and shut up!

  • The Determined Traveller
    Jan 13 2026

Would you board a plane knowing you might have a medical emergency on board? Can you imagine being in a situation where you'd risk your own life, or that of your baby, just to make a journey you didn't really need to make?

And what about the flight attendants who have to deal with the emotional toll of dealing with medical emergencies? Or your fellow passengers who might miss their own connections or major life events because your life is at risk in the air so plane has to divert before reaching it's final destination?

On today's episode, we hear the true story of a woman who stretched the truth about how pregnant she was, and nearly gave birth in the air. And how that affects the cabin crew who are expected to become midwives at 38,000ft!

  • Flight to Freedom
    Dec 16 2025

What if one unexpected medical emergency at the airport accidentally handed you the most liberating night of your life?

In this true cabin crew story, Andy - a long-haul flight attendant - starts his day expecting nothing more than a routine winter trip to Delhi. But when an elderly passenger collapses on the jet bridge, Andy jumps in to help, performs CPR, and is promptly taken off the flight and sent home.

    Most people would be annoyed.
Andy? He walks through his front door and discovers a surprise that changes everything… in the best possible way.

What follows is a wonderfully chaotic, funny, and freeing chain of events that could only happen to someone who works in aviation. From relationship revelations to a very unexpected Christmas twist, Andy’s day goes from stressful to side-splittingly memorable, all because of a moment he never saw coming. His sliding doors moment!

    This episode explores:
Real-life cabin crew medical moments (the kind we all have)
Sliding-door days that flip life on its head
LGBTQ+ themes handled with warmth and humour
The messy, relatable reality of crew life
How one “ruined” shift can sometimes set you free

A Flight to Freedom is proof that sometimes the universe hands you exactly what you need… even if it looks like a day from hell at first.
