The Seltzer Salon

De: Foxy Digitalis
  • Resumen

  • The Seltzer Salon is a concise, conversational podcast hosted by Brad Rose and produced by Foxy Digitalis. Each episode features a musician, artist, writer, or anyone, really, focusing on a single project or idea. I know we all have limited time each day, so I wanted to do something a little smaller scale with just as much impact, so episodes will be 25-45 minutes in length.

  • The Seltzer Salon #20: Carlos Niño
    Nov 2 2023
I’ve often wondered, while listening to any number of Carlos Niño’s projects or records, what a typical day of his looks like. I used that as a jumping off point to talk to him about collaboration and working as a producer, particularly his involvement with Thandi Ntuli’s beautiful new record, Rainbow Revisited. He shared stories about what drew him to her sound, touring Europe with Laraaji, and the community that makes his work hum. Carlos’s latest record, (I’m just) Chillin’, on Fire is out now on International Anthem.(I’m just) Chillin’, on FireRainbow RevisitedCarlos Niño on Bandcamp***Please Note that this is the last stand-alone Seltzer Salon episode as future conversations will now be part of the Foxy Digitalis Podcast***The Seltzer Salon is a concise, conversational podcast hosted by Brad Rose and produced by Foxy Digitalis. • The Seltzer Salon #19: Zekarias Musele Thompson
    Oct 26 2023

Zekarias Musele Thompson made one of my favorite records of 2022, Goodnight Shiva (Atlantic Rhythms), but that only scratched the surface of the work they are doing in the worlds of art and sound. Through Working Name Studioes, Thompson fosters a community built around connecting with each other and ourselves through material and conceptual art practice. It’s important work that continues to grow and evolve through events, releases, gatherings, and more. They also continue working on their own solo work, with a new album on the distant horizon.

  • The Seltzer Salon #18: Tristan Allen
    Oct 19 2023
Tristan Allen is a puppeteer, musician, and world builder. Their new album, Tin Iso & the Dawn, sets the stage for future narratives, sonic investigations, and a sense that something larger lurks out there for all of us. It’s one of the most engaging pieces of work I’ve heard all year, and add into it the puppetry and visuals Allen has created in conjunction with the music, it’s hard not to be taken in and moved by it all.Tin Iso & the DawnThe Seltzer Salon is a concise, conversational podcast hosted by Brad Rose and produced by Foxy Digitalis.
