With anything, there are a lot of fakes and phony actors who claim to be one thing, and are really another.

In John 8 Jesus says "If you abide in my word, you truly my disciples". This assumes there are fake disciples. Really, the world is divided up into three categories: Unbelievers, Fake Believers, and Real Believers. Which category are you in?

Jesus utters a crucial sentence to his followers in John 14:!5. He says "if you love me, you will keep my commandments". You will hear these words from Jesus in one of two ways: as a warning, or as a promise.

Far too often we can become legalistic in our view of God and find ourselves striving to obey out of fear or self-righteousness. We may try and try and try our hardest to obey God because we want to be accepted and loved by God. When in reality, we can do nothing on our own to earn salvation. Obedience, true obedience, comes from a heart that loves Jesus.

How do you feel about evangelism? When it comes to sharing the gospel with others, does it make you anxious? Nervous? Fearful?

If get uncomfortable with the idea of going to a friend, co worker, even a stranger and telling them about Jesus, you're not alone. There are many people who feel this way. However, there are two things that Jesus says to us when he tells us to go and make disciples, that remove all fear. It's impossible to believe what Jesus says and still be afraid to go and share the good news.

I found myself gripped by this reality. That I have this one life to live and then its outcome for all of eternity. Just one life. One life is all that we have and then eternity. So if want to live a life not wasted, we have to have an answer to one question - "What is the purpose?"

And ultimately, we only care about how God answers this question. His answer to this one question is our only hope to live a life that is not wasted.
