My knowledge increases
From a Clinical Massage Therapist perspective
Many of these discussions were very applicable to the physiological effect of Massage on the many systems of the body.
The main physiological effect of massage is increase of Lymphatic and blood tissue.
The pressure applied in centripetal friction increases blood flow and Lymphatic drainage.
So as I listened to each discussion I was listening from this position and perspective. The Mitochondrial production and GLymphatic discussion was also very helpful for me as I will be doing a lecture and will add it to my material. I am wondering now when we are doing massage of the neck and head in cranial work, will it show a positive effect the mitochondrial production. Current oResearch in Massage Therapy will validate Dr John Harvey Kellogg’s book and research on the physiological effects of massage on the systems of the body.
