Tessa O'Halloran is a Young Entrepreneur running Plasticity, an upcycling company based in the karoo region of South Africa. She decided to tackle a global problem with plastics by creating useful elegant products which are handmade and designed in the small town of Graaff-Reinet since 2017. Their products are a combination of organic hemp fabric and upcycled plastic. Tessa is also a freelance writer and a photographer.

On this episode, I had a very insightful conversation with Daniel (known more popularly as DanRam). He is an Igniter,a 5x TEDx speaker, 3x entrepreneur, prolific speaker, and startup coach, his clients range from individual founders to national governments. His eclectic background growing up in 10 countries on 4 continents, his multi-continent education including Yale University and Trinity College, as well as his work in diverse industries from the UN to Consulting to Private Equity to Startups ensures that his clients are at the cutting edge of innovation.

On the ground, he is the founder of several startups in multiple countries and has coached scores of founders and startups. At the national level, Daniel was part of the 7 person panel commissioned by Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to put together a National Entrepreneurship Policy. DanRam travels the globe as an Event MC & Speaker at over 100 events a year. Hosting changemakers like President Barack Obama, billionaire founders like Sir Richard Branson, record breaking athletes like F1 champion Nico Rosberg, Grammy-winning artists and celebrities, he works on 4 continents from college campuses to parliaments to in-house corporate innovation days to the biggest tech conferences in the world. His passion is to inspire people with his motto ‘Start Now Start Simple’ in building a future we all want to live in.

 Today I am going to talk about something I find particularly important and interesting. It is something that we all might have experienced but many of us have failed to address it. I am referring to Loneliness. It creates a deep psychological wound; it distorts our perceptions and affects our thinking. I believe It even makes us think that those around us care much less than they do and because of that it also makes it hard for us to reach out.
