  • Breaking the cycles of abuse in my crazy family
    May 23 2023

It may be easy to simply blame our parents for our childhood pains and struggles, since we were directly affected by them. Have you ever stopped to think how the way they parented you, could be affected by the way they were raised by their parents? I recently learned that abuse can be passed from generation to generation, and it has made me take a second look at why I was raised the way I was.

In this episode, I will discuss the following:

    • Realizing I was raised by a narcissistic parent
    • Recognizing narcissistic traits in my grandmother
    • Being hurt and confused as a kid
    • Why certain people become narcissists
    • Switching blame from my parent to my grandparent
    • Learning that my great-grandmother would drown her children
    • Why I never wanted to have children
    • What I need to do in order to break cycles of abuse
    • Healing ourselves so our future generations can be healthy
