  • Ian Jennings & Alan Williams: A Marine Sniper’s Story, Brotherhood, and the Truth Phil Wanted Told
    Feb 17 2026

A few days after agreeing to come on the podcast to tell his story, Marine sniper Phillip passed away in a tragic car accident.

He was excited. He wanted the truth told.

So today, his father Alan Williams and fellow Marine Ian Jennings sit down to tell it.

From Ramadi, Iraq (2004–2005), to the loss of brothers Barlow and Hubbard, to frustration with leadership, to the weight veterans carry long after coming home, this is a raw, unfiltered conversation about combat, loyalty, survivor’s guilt, and what happens when the war follows you home.

    They discuss:

    • Becoming sniper partners in Ramadi

    • The day that changed everything

    • The deaths of fellow Marines

    • The burden of leadership decisions

    • Survivor’s guilt and PTSD

    • The VA system and “suffering in silence”

    • Why Phil wanted this story told

If you’re a veteran struggling, you are not alone. Don’t keep it bottled up.

  • Long Range Shooting Myths | 12 Minute Talk w/ Mountains, Mullets, America
    Feb 12 2026

Today’s 12 Minute Talk features Zach from Mountains, Mullets, America.

We break down some of the biggest long range shooting myths still floating around:

    • “There’s only ONE right answer”

    • You need a $3,000 custom rifle to get started

    • Your optic has to cost more than your rifle

    • First focal plane vs second focal plane

    • ARs can’t shoot long range

    • You have to reload to compete

    • The 1 MOA benchmark

The barrier to entry in long range shooting has dropped dramatically. Modern factory rifles, factory ammo, and affordable optics are better than they’ve ever been.

    Stop gatekeeping. Start shooting.

Be sure to check out the full podcast episode with Zach, we split it into two parts covering his background and deep dives into long range gear and shooting.

If you’re enjoying these 12 Minute Talks, follow the show on Spotify and share it with someone who’s been overthinking their long range setup.

  • A Conversation With My Dad
    Feb 10 2026

This is an archived episode from a few years ago.

Going back and listening to this conversation now, it means more to me than I can explain.

At the time, we were just sitting down talking hunting, how he grew up doing it, the rifles he started with, how the gear and the leases changed over the years, and a bunch of stories I’m really glad we captured. There’s a lot of laughs in here, some real perspective, and a lot of “regular life” that hits different now.

I’m sharing this as a tribute to my dad.

    thank you,

    Wade

  • Why Most Predator Hunters Miss Running Shots
    Feb 5 2026

In this 12 Minute Talk, we break down running shots and why so many hunters struggle with them without realizing the real reason. Velocity, barrel length, projectile speed, scope setup, and follow-through all play a role, and if you’ve always shot fast “hot rod” cartridges, you might not actually be as good at running shots as you think.

This episode is an intro to a deeper, data-driven podcast coming soon, where we’ll define velocity ranges, practical leads, and what actually makes running shots easier — without guessing.

    Topics covered:

    • Why fast cartridges feel like a cheat code

    • How short barrels and slower velocities expose bad habits

    • Proper tracking technique (and what not to do)

    • Scope magnification mistakes on moving targets

    • Ways to practice running shots realistically

    • Why chairs dramatically increase hit percentage at night

If you’re missing running shots, or avoiding them altogether, this episode will change how you think about them.

  • Choosing Between 6 ARC and 6 Creed for Deer, Pigs, and Coyotes
    Feb 3 2026

In this episode, Wade breaks down 6 ARC vs 6 Creed, not just specs, but what actually matters in the real world: platform differences (AR-15 vs AR-10), barrel life, cost to shoot, recoil, ammo availability, and where each cartridge makes the most sense for hunting and practical use. He also talk's about why a ~200 fps difference doesn’t always translate to major downrange separation, and why use case and barrel length should drive your decision.

  • Accurizing an AR: What Actually Matters
    Jan 27 2026

    From the archives.

Everybody wants an “accurate AR,” but most people are chasing internet fixes instead of fixing the real problems. In this episode, we break down SPR vs DMR vs Recce, then get brutally honest about what actually matters when you’re trying to tighten groups.

    We cover:

    • Why barrel choice matters more than anything else

    • Trigger, receiver fit, stock choice, and tolerance stacking

    • Why suppressors don’t magically make rifles more accurate — but can make shooters better

    • Ammo testing vs guessing

    • Why “do-it-all” rifles usually suck at everything

    • And the hard truth: if you’re not a 1-MOA shooter, no parts list will save you

    No magic tricks. Just reality.

👉 Listen, learn, then stop blaming the rifle.

    Jan 22 2026

    From the Archive.

In this 12-Minute Talk, Wade breaks down the three most common mistakes predator hunters make, especially during daytime calling.

    He covers:

    • Why being too loud walking into a stand kills opportunities before you ever call

    • How movement on stand gives predators away your position

    • Why most misses come down to lack of realistic practice

    • The difference between bench shooting and shooting the way you actually hunt

    • Why missing is part of predator hunting — and how to reduce it

This episode is blunt, practical, and aimed at helping hunters clean up the small mistakes that cost them animals.
