    Jul 10 2023

All the stops are out on the Season 1 Finale!  After a great season of theatre, we look ahead to what Springfield’s biggest companies are putting on in the 2023-2024 season.  Nathaniel pours all his music degree into defining “oratorio,” Noel offers up a new show “Ukulele On The Roof,” and Allison is buying a candy bar for whoever got to our YouTube by searching “ben ben 3.”

Many thanks to the people who have started this adventure with us!  We can’t wait to share new YouTube content and see you back here for Season 2!

    Jun 27 2023

We’re back in Urinetown and getting fully submerged (we promise that’s the only pee joke in this paragraph).  With the show’s 3-week run underway, Nathaniel and Noel tell all from behind the scenes.  Noel talks about her costuming process, from the theoretical to the practical.  Nathaniel talks about taking on the role of Officer Barrel, how the inspiration for the character came about, and what’s on the pre-show playlist.  Meanwhile, armed with her trusty Wikipedia page, Allison puts her English major to work unpacking the dark themes of this bright comedy.

  • 5 - This Is Urinetown: Part I ft. Moe Callahan
    Jun 12 2023

A musical about paying to pee?  Yes, it exists, and yes both Nathaniel and Noel are involved in a local production of said musical.  It’s the first of our two episodes on Urinetown: The Musical at Springfield Contemporary Theatre, and we are talking with the stage manager, Moe Callahan.  They take us behind the scenes on the work of a stage manager, and how this particular show is panning out for them.  Plus, pretending to be married to Spongebob and Nathaniel’s flaming heterosexuality.

    Jun 5 2023

We’ve got magic to do on this episode, the magic of costuming a spectacle show!  Today, we talk to Bailey Doran, the lead costume designer for Pippin which played at Springfield Little Theatre in April.  Nathaniel, Noel, and Allison try to make sense of the show’s meta plot, and Bailey talks about how she translated rich themes into dazzling, colorful costumes.  Plus, what happened to the live goose promised by the playbill?
