I have a confession to make. I recorded this episode almost one year ago and have been procrastinating my editing work. It has been a struggle trying to find guests who want to talk about their trauma while being recorded and I did not want to edit my final episode. I hope you enjoy this severely delayed one.

More and more people are quitting alcohol. In 2022, cannabis replaced booze as the number one drug used daily by Americans. Alcohol was a major part of my guests life. He began drinking at age 13 and after quitting one year and 4 months ago, faced his trauma, social anxiety.

As a recovering perfectionist I have had to learn to forgive myself and others for when I am disappointed. I’ve also had to learn there are usually more than one point of view for every situation. I want to apologize for the last few weeks episodes not being released on time. Or another point of view is I took some time off to move and my listeners got to build anticipation before the concluding episodes with Jarred are released. Either point of view is valid.

Today’s episode comes with a trigger warning. My guest Jarred talks extensively about his cousins suicide. If that isn’t your cup of tea, please tune in next week for a more lighthearted trauma.

It is heartwarming, it’s sweet. It is a Hollywood trope. The story goes something like this. The kid is smarter than their parents. Through some means whether fair or foul, they are able to reunite parents that are divorced. We may have enjoyed a movie like this in the past, knowing this is impossible.

My guest today was able make the impossible, real. He reunited his parents with a letter. This caused him a significant amount of trauma. I thank you in advice for listening to his story.

How much debt do you have? Most people would answer in the thousands of dollars. Was your debt caused by yourself? Or did bad luck come into play?

My guest today is named Jade and she learned a hard financial lesson. It started with a personal loan to parents and ended with her Co-signing on two additional bank loans for her parents debt. We jump around a lot between USD, Taiwan Dollars, and South African Rand. For clarity the two loans total around 40,000 USD. and she gifted her parents and additional 20,000 USD.

What did she do? Tune in for the answer
