We take these on as our truths so we can be accepted, fit in and survive. As human beings we adapt to environment and our belief systems become part of who we are ad help us to navigate the complexities of the world we find ourselves in. 

The problem with this however is that we might want something in our life (like a successful business), but our beliefs might not support the mindset that is required for success.
