This guide will provide you with all the information you need to know about Menu del Dia, from its history to how to order. The Menu del Dia started in the 1960s as a way for Spanish workers to have a cheap, well-balanced meal at lunchtime. A law passed in 1965 required many restaurants in Spain to have a menu del dia. The rule set standards and prices for the midday meal to help workers. The Menu del Dia, or "menu of the day," is what restaurants in Spain serve for lunch (la comida).
