  • 2024 Miami Grand Prix Preview - Odds on, it'll suck?
    May 2 2024

Ok, Miami. Let’s just deal with the reality that it’s going to be a bit meh. But, there’s plenty of news in this one! So join the team as they sit down to pick apart all the news from F1 and a bit beyond.

    Apologies:

We’re not sure why Jesse’s audio opens up so crackly, eventually he’ll be able to afford a microphone.

    Notes:

Kimi still holds the record for most races between wins, 114, 2013 Australian GP to 2018 United States GP. Alonso last won in Spain in 2013. Going into Miami he has raced 181 races with no wins since then, assuming Jesse’s counting is correct.

  • 2024 Chinese Grand Prix Review - You could have been so good!
    Apr 23 2024

Well, that was all right I suppose. It could have been better. Still, there’s some interesting elements to scan over in its wake, plus some interesting news from the world of motorsport, so tuck in with the Undercut Podcast team!

Corrections: Jesse has mistaken film writer, director and producer Brad Bird for Checo’s race engineer Hugh Bird. Brad is, of course, famous for films like The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille (grated), and Mission Impossible 4. Just learning he was a big creative driver on the early seasons of The Simpsons too!

  • 2024 Chinese Grand Prix Preview - Where have you been?
    Apr 18 2024

My my, where have the years gone? Fresh track surface, recent rain, one practice session, a sprint weekend, several drivers that have either only raced here once or not at all, this could be a wild one. Shanghai, welcome back!

    Corrections:

When we mention Brazilian drivers, yes, we forgot Pietro Fittipaldi, sorry. Nasr was the last driver from Brazil to do a full season. Sérgio Sette Câmara only ever tested in F1. Before them you have Bruno Senna, Lucas di Grassi, Nelson Piquet Jr., Antônio Pizzonia, Cristiano da Matta, Felipe Massa, Enrique Bernoldi and so on. You get the point.

Slim Borgudd didn’t run a Toleman, he raced with ATS and Tyrrell.

Jesse means the STR09 when talking about putting prophylactics on nose cones.

Wolverton is technically the closest train station to Silverstone, but it still means you’re 10 miles/16km short.
