  • 57 | Candy Jones, Model, Radio Host... MK Ultra Victim?
    Jan 13 2022

Happy new year, lizards! We're back and what a winding road of recording this episode twice, having the audio bork differently two times, and then going with the original recording because it was slightly less bad this has been. All worth it for the story of Candy Jones, a.k.a. Arlene Grant, model possible MK Ultra victim. Buckle up for hypnosis, secret missions, possible Winter Soldiering, and fry bits.

Also, a lengthy ode to Alias, a recommendation for Only Murders in the Building, and ~tales of pregnancy~.

  • 56 | The Warminster Thing
    Dec 23 2021

The truth is out there and it is festive, y'all. It's Katy's turn and she has brought you some UFOs near Stonehenge that appear on Christmas morning, 1964 (and then a bunch of other times) - the story of the Warminster Thing! Is it just military drills from their nearby training area? Or is that what they WANT you to think?

We check in with our PAs. MM is not ready to reenter society. Katy's been watching a lot of Desus & Mero. What do you think invisible fingers of sound look like? Everyone needs to watch Edge of Tomorrow. Yes, you. Happy holidays!

  • 55 | Victim F: Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn
    Dec 16 2021

MM has a doozy for you this week, lizards - buckle up for the story of Victim F, a.k.a. the Gone Girl kidnapping, a.k.a. the abduction of Denise Huskins and the absolutely awful way she and her boyfriend were treated by police.

Hm. Where have we heard THAT before?

Stay tuned for the end of the episode where we have an update on the David Stone Halloween Mystery! (No, it's not solved.) (Still cool, though.)

PA Moxie is living her best life in Christmas packaging. Reese's trees have the best chocolate to peanut butter ratio, don't @ us. How many days would you last off the grid? Katy got her steps in this episode by storming around in rage. DO A LITTLE INVESTIGASCH! GOD!

  • 54 | Kaz II, the Ghost Yacht
    Dec 9 2021

How is it December?! Lizards, we recorded this one in a post-Thanksgiving haze, so in addition to the tale of Kaz II, the ghost yacht, get ready for opinions about gravy.

Oh, right, we said ghost yacht. Further proof that you don't fuck with the ocean, back in 2007, the crew of the Kaz II disappeared with no explanation, in a way compared to the disappearance of the Mary Celeste's crew back in the late 1800s. We'll take a detour, don't worry.

What's your opinion on gravy viscosity? Pre-order MM's biography, "Disheveled But Seaworthy," today. Take a drink whenever we give you a new reason to not go in the ocean ever.

Movie corner! Since Katy just got around to seeing Rise of Skywalker, we have a timely Star Wars discussion. Our fingers are ON THE PULSE OF POP CULTURE, you guys. We also chat about Shang Chi and Hereditary.

  • 53 | The Disappearance of Tyler Hardy
    Dec 2 2021

Happy December, lizards! This week, MM brings you the winding tale of the "disappearance" of Tyler Hardy - brace yourselves for some twists! Turns! Etc.!

Katy breaks MM's brain with a mushroom reference. "Hey, who wants to talk about some missing kids, now?" At what point when you're caught in a lie do you just give up? Also, hey, parents. Don't share pictures of your babies when they're still covered in WOMB BITS. This is a heartfelt tip from us to you. Production assistant Ollie takes a stand. Please lend us your child for one hour.

  • 52 | Let's Not Meet
    Nov 25 2021

We're back with some spooky tales from the spookiest place on earth... Reddit. Katy and her scratchy voice went to r/letsnotmeet and found a few tales for MM to react to - do we believe they're real? Either way, let's not meet.

There's a difference between people and FUCKING PEOPLE, you know what we mean? Also, if they say "stay on the trail," stay on the goddamn trail. Has no one read A Sound of Thunder, jfc. Don't play a drinking game with MM saying "noooope," you'll die. Katy will always assume there's a hillbilly that's going to hunt her. Pro tip from your millennial aunts: ALWAYS LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS. Also: don't be a Mike.

  • 51 | Grace Sherwood, the Virginia Witch
    Nov 18 2021

This week, MM brings us the tale of the only convicted witch in Virginia, Grace Sherwood, because spooky season is forever.

But first, join us for millennial aunt advice corner, in which Katy espouses you should know thyself... and if you're not an entrepreneur. "A boner for land" is not a phrase we'd thought we'd ever say, but here we are. MM annuls our friendship yet again. Our arms are weak and our brains are smooth.

(This was recorded before 2021 election results came in for both Virginia and Washington. Laugh at the hope in our voices. :|)

  • 50 | Point Defiance Park and Kell's Irish Pub
    Nov 4 2021

Last episode was our birthday and this episode is our 50th! Cheers! For our 50th episode, Katy has two Washington-state stories that are spooky (Kell's Irish Pub) and spooky adjacent (the very tragic tale of the murder of Jennifer Bastian and how her ghost is reportedly seen in Point Defiance Park).

We are, of course, ready as hell for the Animal Crossing update. We will give you our thoughts, of course. Katy had never really experienced Zak Bagans before researching Kell's and is truly, truly baffled by his whole... [gestures generally] thing. There's an unexpected connection to our Starvation Heights episode (#33)! The gum wall remains gross.
