  • Northeast Mississippi Community College President Dr. Ricky G. Ford sits down with Marketing and Public Relations Specialist Liz Calvery to discuss some of the events that the college president is looking forward to as Northeast inches closer to the start of school in the Fall 2024 semester. The veteran educator talks about how vibrant the campus is with students back in the fall and the annual Student Government Association Luau that allows students to make friends during the first week back on campus. Ford also discusses events such as week-long training for employees and InService during the early portions of August, training and workshops offered through the Employee Development Center all semester long. Ford talks about some of the major events that happen such as Northeast NOW, the annual Northeast Mississippi Regional Marching Band Championship, athletics kicking off - with the addition of Cross Country this fall and the reemergence of the Gaye Roden Carr Aquatic Center -- and plans for the pool. To wrap up, Ford gives listeners the Northeast News and discusses athletics, academics, workforce, student activities, and human resources, along with many more important things happening at one of the nation’s top community colleges.
