Time Out fostering, based in Lancing, West Sussex, is dedicated to helping  improve the lives of young people, providing loving, caring homes across Sussex and neighbouring counties. They are recognised by Ofsted as an ‘Outstanding’ service, offering excellent individual support and training.

In this episode, Phoebe Cornish and Time Out Fostering look into the role of birth children in a family in which the parents foster. It explores the impact of this family dynamic and addresses the challenges of balancing the two. 

The Episode features interviews with some of Time Out Fostering's carers and their families from West Sussex and talks to them about their experience with fostering. It includes some great insight into the ups and downs of sharing their homes with those in care, from the challenges they faced, through to making lifelong relationships with placements. 

Please note - this episode was recorded during the COVID-19 restrictions on meeting and therefore interviews took place over the phone and video call. The sound reflects that at times - and perhaps adds a little stamp in time for 'the way things were in 2020'!
