We’re thrilled to be back with you after our quick summer sojourn! In today’s episode of Tres Leches, we’re diving headfirst into a monumental moment in American politics. With Kamala Harris stepping up as the presidential candidate after Joe Biden’s exit from the race, we’re unpacking the seismic shift and what it means for the future. We share our thoughts, hopes, and reflections on this pivotal and potentially wild chapter in American history.

And don’t miss out—Johnny breaks down how to properly pronounce ‘Kamala,’ ensuring we all get it right as she steps into the presidential spotlight.

But that’s just the first half! The second part of our episode gets personal as we navigate the scary world of first dates. Ian’s not holding back—after being left on read, he’s ready to read the bitch who did it. Meanwhile, Juan is branching out, trying to expand his dating horizons by mingling with new friend groups. And Johnny? Our wise Mama Odie, comfortably in a relationship, shares her sage realtionshiop advice like an old woman perched in her tree.

No, really, we need saving! Because after recording this episode, it’s clear we need help.

We’re starting with a brief toast to Broadway’s best at the Tony Awards, then crossing the Atlantic to dive into Ian’s beginnings in the UK, and exploring why he never read “The Outsiders.”

Ian isn’t the only British thing we love—we are also head over heels for “Love Island UK” and its American sister show, which just kicked off a new season. Johnny and Juan are on a campaign to get Ian addicted to the island antics—why not join the madness and watch along with us?

But there’s more! Today’s ‘Spilled Milk’ segment is fermenting with juicy gossip—so tantalizing it’s almost rotten. Leave it out any longer, and we might just have sour cream on our hands! We're tackling a man grappling with a significant age gap in his new relationship, celebrating the wild adventures of a recent college grad, and debating bedroom laziness—because someone’s got to do the work, right?

  • Make Magic Practical Again
    Jun 13 2024

Our witch’s brew is piping hot this week. Ian is practically levitating with excitement over the buzz that Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman might reunite for a “Practical Magic” reboot. Yes, you heard it right. This is Ian’s rapture. He has seen the face of God and it’s this potential cinematic revival.

But that’s not all we’ve got stirring in our cauldron. We talk gay etiquette, why you should just say ‘hi’—always.

Juan explains why you might want to think twice before claiming you’re ‘nauseous’—and Ian shares a musical ordeal that left him nauseated.

And for our grand finale? We’re dissecting Johnny’s legendary “XXX” Spotify playlist, track by track. Dubbed the single greatest playlist for making whoopie, even Wendy Williams would nod and declare, “It’s good.”

  • UNCUT: A Super-Sized Slice of Tres Leches
    Jun 6 2024

Welcome back, mis amores! Today, we’re throwing out the agenda and just “comiendo mierda” (and yes, while that might translate to eating sh*…, around here, it means talking sh*…). You know when you talk to your best friend about the same thing you’ve talked about 5,676 times but you bring it up again because you’ve found another way to think about the same situation?—yep, that’s our vibe today.

What’s on the docket? It’s Pride month, and we’re mixing celebration with a side-eye at all the gay couples hoarding the fun. Juan might’ve bailed on his 75 hard challenge, but trust, he’s picked up some wisdom along the way. Johnny? Oh, he’s got a boyfriend now, and we’re all about getting the deets. And let’s not forget Ian, reminding us why we’re blessed to live in a world where Fire Island is just a ferry ride away. We’re also talking Billie Eilish and her latest single, “Birds of a Feather.”

So, grab your café cubano, find your favorite spot, and let’s dive into another heart-to-heart, Tres Leches style—no filters, all sass, and a generous helping of best-friending.

  • No Worries If Not
    May 2 2024

As the season shifts, emotions are blooming just as much as the flowers around us. Johnny's stepping into a new relationship, while Juan and Ian are single, taking this time to delve deep into what intimacy and romance mean to them at this point in their lives.

We're also exploring the nuances of platonic intimacy. Can these non-romantic relationships truly satisfy our yearnings for closeness and connection? For Ian, they might just be the answer. Later in the episode, in our "Spilled Milk" segment, the phone call is coming form inside the house–Juan has a burning question for Johnny and Ian about setting expectations in relationships, especially when it comes to communication styles and how often we should be in touch.

Johnny warns Juan that saying “No worries if not” and being overly accommodating to the whims of potential suitors, lets the colonizers win.

    Apr 3 2024

"Cowboy Carter" marks a significant moment in music history, with Beyoncé's single "Texas Hold 'Em" becoming the first No. 1 country hit by a Black woman. This album is not just a foray into country music; it's Beyoncé's exploration of America itself, digging deep into the genre's roots and paying homage to the unsung Black musicians who helped shape it.

It's an episode packed with laughs, insights, and maybe a surprise yodel or two. So, grab your hat, pour yourself some sweet tea, and join us for a knee-slapping good time as Tres Leches goes country with Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter."
