  • Runway Rundown. 2024 Daytime Emmys Edition: Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and all your favorite Soap Stars. Who Missed the Mark?
    Jun 19 2024
In this week’s special episode of “Undressed,” hosts Pol' Atteu and Patrik Simpson take you through a comprehensive and entertaining critique of the fashion hits and misses from the 2024 Daytime Emmys. The episode begins with Pol welcoming the audience with a brand-new theme song, setting an upbeat tone for “Runway Rundown” and our mission to dissect and evaluate the red carpet looks, promising an unfiltered take on celebrity fashion. Our fashion microscope begins with Star Jones AKA: “hot mess” because the gown fails to fit properly and the overly high slit that runs up to her thigh. Jennifer Hudson is stunning in a full-length gown and beautiful hair styled in a bun in vibrant colors. Victoria Recaño wearing a gown inspired by “Crazy Rich Asians" feels dated and the tea-length gown does not suit her height. Heather Tom’s ensemble sparks a harsher reaction and she misses the mark. Ashley Jones earns more favorable reviews with her chiffon full-length gown but, a clutch could have added a touch of sophistication. The critique continues with Lauren Staller, whose green crushed velvet dress is deemed a nightmare and it's out its season. Sheryl Lee Ralph is celebrated for her fashion sense in an all-black full-length dress. Lisa Guerrero’s outfit, however, receives less favorable comments and she looks like she’s dressed for a barbecue. Emily O’Brien is next, wearing an earth-tone wrap dress hugs her waistline with matching accessories that match her shoes. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood’s outfit, unfortunately, does not fare well as it's probably a costume from Dancing with the Stars. The review moves on to Terri Seymour, who wears a full-length mesh fabric dress and tiny belt and both agree that the dress is a standout, showcasing Teri’s fashion-forward choices. Luchina Fisher, on the other hand, makes a significant fashion misstep by wearing flats and an ill-fitting dress. Graziella Prunella’s bridesmaid dress is noted for lacking accessories and Audrey Ly’s all-white two-piece outfit is a hit for pairing it with a crystallized belt and a stylish jacket. Kiara Ortega’s pageant-inspired look is discussed next. Tanner Novlan stands out among the male celebrities with his well-fitted look and his loafers, despite being unconventional, do not detract from his overall appearance. Gemma Bird Matheson’s short black outfit pairedwith thigh-high boots from Amazon is deemed inappropriate but, Elia Cantu’s high-low gown is praised for her beauty, though it resembles a prom dress. Jamila Norman’s all-purple gown is a stunner and she hits it out of the ball park that “slays” with this look. Kelly Clarkson's hot pink dress is critiqued for not being resized after weight loss and the dress wasn’t steamed properly and lacks the right undergarments, making it look matronly and Tamron Hall’s daring all-black dress receives mixed reviews that the dress fails to flatter her. The episode wraps with our best and worst dressed. Who made the cut? Who dazzled and who fizzled?Whether you’re looking for fashion tips, celebrity insights, or just a good laugh, this episode of “Undressed with Pol’ and Patrik” delivers it all in style with this Runway Rundown recap! In this special Runway Rundown episode, we revisit some of our most memorable moments beginning with highlights, capturing the essence of fashion critique and celebrity insights that have become a staple of the show. We kick off with Kelly Dodd from Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Orange County” and her husband Rick Leventhal. Kelly’s sharp and witty commentary on Tamara Judge’s unitard and the resulting “camel toe” conversation is both hilarious and brutally honest and the discussion escalates when Kellyintroduces the unforgettable term “camel foot,” adding a unique twist to the fashion faux pas. Do Bravo Housewives choose their own reunion outfits? This sparks a lively debate and Pol’ elaborates on the significance of feeling good with the right hair, makeup, and outfit, emphasizing the confidence that comes from a well-curated look. Tamara Judge’s ensemble to an 80s porn star and later to Studio 54 regular showcases colorful and vivid analogies, painting a clear picture of the fashion critiques. Heather Dubrow’s reunion look is scrutinized and Pol’ emphasizes the importance of having a color analysis done to ensure the best look and the necessity of wearing proper undergarments under a gown. We then transition to Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules” with Scheana Shay and Brock Davies. The foursome recalls an awkward reunion at a wedding venue, sharing laughs and memories. Pol’s enthusiasm for creating Scheana’s wedding gown is evident as he details the intricacies of the masterpiece describing it as if it were painted on her body. The veil issue with the wind adds a touch of reality to the glamour, and Pol’s review of Scheana’s daughter Summer Moon’s matching gown showcases his dedication to family-oriented styling and creating. The group then reviews the VPR Season 11 reunion looks, starting with Ariana Madix, whom everyone agrees slayed her look. Patrik expresses his dislike for Katie Maloney’s dress, describing it as too wide, while Pol breaks down the gown’s design flaws. Lala’s leopard print outfit, combined with stories of weddings and paparazzi boats, add more layers to the engaging conversation. Rachel/Raquel’s look is thoroughly dissected, with Pol declaring it a bad choice, and Scheana revealing behind-the-scenes gown secrets. We feature Mercedes Javid from Shahs of Sunset, and The Traitors who discusses her appearance on Watch What Happens Live and critique her look, highlighting how the designer failed to ensure it properly fit her proportions. Mercedes shares her philosophy on fashion and comfort, explaining how she is no longer forcing looks but rather wearing what is flattering. Carnie Wilson joins for a segment on Celebrity Wife Swap, where the trio critiques various celebrity outfits, leading to discussions about strict parenting and family dynamics. Carnie shares her dislike for the show due to how her husband was portrayed, sparking a conversation about reality TV editing and its impact on personal lives. Throughout this highlight’s episode, Pol’ and Patrik’s chemistry, humor, and fashion expertise shine brightly. Their candid discussions, detailed critiques, and personal anecdotes make this episode a must-listen for fans of celebrity fashion and behind-the-scenes gossip. Jun 5 2024
It’s part 2 with Sutton Stracke and we delve deeper into our conversation with her beginning with a metaphorical discussion about “eating the marshmallow” post-breakup, which symbolizes moving on quickly and not dwelling on past relationships. Sutton emphasizes the importance of continuing to date while working on personal growth. Pol’ supports this by stressing the significance of discovering one’s fashion style, comparing it to the discipline required for physical fitness and a healthy diet. The big elephant in the room question is why people often wait until after a breakup to improve themselves? It’s not about money but about finding clothing that brings joy, regardless of the price or the store. This light-hearted exchange highlights the importance of personal satisfaction over material wealth. Sutton, known for her impeccable fashion sense, discusses her criteria for a new partner, prioritizing intellectual compatibility. How can people move forward with emotional baggage? We discuss her hands-on involvement with her boutique’s inventory, and she reveals that her passion for fashion and the boutique began when she lived in Orange County and started a blog. She discusses how shopping habits have changed, with a shift towards sustainable fashion and personalized experiences and introduces us to Sutton Brands sustainable fashion and shares her plans to transition her boutique to an appointment-only model, valuing the dedicated space for exclusive events. Runway Rundown looks start with Dorit Kemsley from RHOBH, analyzing her reunion outfit and Sutton comments on how distracting her constant fiddling with her outfit was, and Pol’ breaks down the technical aspects of the design. Next up we discuss Nicole Kidman’s stunning gold metallic outfit at the AFI Achievement Awards, that Sutton describes it as “to die for. Our final look is Sutton’s own, designed by Dior’s Raf Simons and Patrik's, not a fan and criticizes the outfit, while Sutton and Pol’ appreciate the intricate details and construction and she explains that the outfit was slightly wrinkled from the car ride. There’s light-hearted anecdotes and a humorous story about Larry King purchasing gowns from their boutique, unsure if they were for his mistress or wife. Sutton candidly discusses her preferences in a future partner, sparking laughter and camaraderie We end with the second half of Sutton’s Armenian Coffee reading with Pol’ revealing profound insights into Sutton’s life. He notes a small hole in her heart, which he interprets as an emotional wound from her past. Sutton’s reaction to seeing the letter “A” in her coffee cup leads to a discussion about unresolved issues with a significant person from her past. Sutton acknowledges the accuracy of Pol’s observations and reflects on her personal journey of healing and self-discovery and her cup reveals that her heart has been masked for too long. Pol’ advises her to revisit a painful moment to truly heal and suggests planting a baby citrus tree as a symbol of new beginnings and grounding. What else is revealed in her coffee grounds? Was Jeff Lewis correct and is Sutton moving to a new property with many trees, signifying stability and growth? This is another Hurrdat Media Production. • Cynthia Bailey PT 2: Celebrity Big Brother and I am a Glamour Cover Model, Confronting Todd Bridges, Playin’ with Carson Kressley, Lamar is Gassy and P-Diddy and Prince Andrew Did What?!?
    May 29 2024
Part two of Cynthia Bailey continues our engaging conversation with the renowned model, actress, and reality TV star known from Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and we delve deeper into her life and career with a behind-the-scenes look at her experiences on CBS’s “Celebrity Big Brother.” We kick off with Cynthia discussing her time on “Celebrity Big Brother.” She highlights her interactions with fellow cast members and the unique challenges of the show by describing her initial apprehension and how Todd Bridges became a significant support system for her, helping her navigate the complexities of the game. She elaborates on the strategic and social dynamics within the house, explaining how she quickly learned to handle the pressure and the necessity of occasional deception to survive the competition. As the conversation progresses, Cynthia shares the dynamics within the house, including her close bond with Carson Kressley. She describes the camaraderie that developed among the cast members despite the competitive nature of the show. A humorous moment arises when she talks about the challenges of sharing one bathroom with 12 cast members, a situation that led to unexpected friendships and, at times, tension due to intense isolation from the outside world, which left her feeling “triggered” every time she drives past the CBS Studio Lot. Cynthia also recounts a near confrontation with Todd Bridges, revealing how high tensions could get in the house. Despite the pressure, she reflects on how these intense interactions ultimately led to strong, lasting friendships. She confesses that living in such a “pressure cooker” environment was one of the most challenging experiences of her life, but it also taught her a lot about herself and human nature. In “Haute Topics,” we address the Prince Andrew/Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal, with Cynthia providing her perspective on the disturbing revelations. She expresses her disbelief and sadness over the situation, emphasizing the need for justice and accountability. The discussion broadens to the issue of sex trafficking in Atlanta, highlighting the city’s unfortunate status as one of the top hubs for such crimes. The conversation takes a personal turn as Cynthia discusses her views on the misuse of wealth and power, even touching on her friend P. Diddy’s legal issues and sharing her belief that true intentions and actions eventually come to light. She recounts her early interactions with P. Diddy and how the recent allegations against him have affected her perception of him. Despite these controversies, Cynthia remains hopeful that justice will prevail. As we shift to fashion with “Runway Rundown” we critique recent red carpet looks, starting with Cynthia’s fellow “Real Housewives of Atlanta” castmate, Porsha Williams. The group praises Porsha’s stylish gown, appreciating its design and the confidence with which she wears it. Next, we go gaga over Cynthia’s cover shoot for Glamour Magazine in Bulgaria, discussing the sophisticated and youthful look she embodied. We conclude with the second half of her powerful coffee reading which reveals significant letters and symbols, indicating major changes and opportunities in Cynthia’s life. Pol’ encourages her to focus on herself and close past chapters to embrace new beginnings. This week we welcome comedian, podcaster and radio host, Justin Martindale and we peel back the layers of his life after we kick off with Justin’s introduction to “Armenian Cocaine” AKA: Armenian Coffee and the boys are bouncing off the walls, as Justin quickly acknowledges. Justin’s puppy, Frida, makes her appearance and SnowWhite90210is not having it, as we can hear her growls throughout the show or is it Justin mimicking her? Doggie discussion takes center stage and Frida has a few tricks up her sleeve. The conversation shifts to Justin’s career as a stand-up comedian. He shares his experiences performing at iconic venues like The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Improv and introduces the “Netflix is a Joke” festival, highlighting performances by comedians such as Chelsea Handler, Zac Noe Towers and Fortune Feimster. Will Pol’ add standup comedian to his resume or is he too busy on his latest gig as the lead costume designer on a soap opera? They reminisce about canceled old soap operas, some of which Patrik used to work as casting director on and Justin’s past role as a host for E! Television Network’s “What the Fashion.” During the pandemic, Justin quarantined alone but stayed connected with a friend in his building, while Pol’ and Patrik share their experience working throughout the lockdown, making masks for frontline workers, their celebrity friends and the public. Justin humorously compares Patrik’s real estate journey to Kim Kardashian studying to become an attorney, and Pol’ shares that he was asked to write for Jay Leno because he’s so funny. Justin talks about his approach to writing jokes, blending written material with storytelling. Pol’ and Patrik ask who Justin makes fun of during his shows, leading to a discussion about his boyfriend, Evan, who is frequently mentioned in his routines. He prefers to be known as a comedian who happens to be gay rather than a “gay comedian.” The trio discusses the dynamics of the comedy community, with Justin emphasizing the supportive nature of comedians. The cup does not lie and inside we see Justin and Evan’s initials interwoven, suggesting a significant step in their relationship. Is a fully proposal on the horizon?
