    The Bible is filled with stories of remarkable leaders who transformed nations and shaped history. While qualities like courage, wisdom, and charisma are often attributed to their success, one aspect that often goes unnoticed is their exceptional listening skill. Like Moses, his obedience to God's voice was crucial in leading his people to freedom and establishing a covenant with God. Then there’s John the Baptist. His ability to hear God's voice and proclaim His message was a significant part of his ministry. There’s Samuel, he listened, as a young boy and later as priest and prophet. Samuel’s story illustrates the importance of listening to God's voice and obeying it at all costs. Then there’s Elijah, his mission was to summon the people to conversion and denounce idolatry and social injustices. They all excelled at listening to God! The world these days is very noisy, instead of having peace, we find just the opposite, in our gloom and despair, we fear that our sorrow and troubles will never end. But we can take comfort in this certainty, that although the Lord may not always spare us from troubles, he will lead us safely through them If we follow him wholeheartedly.     God loves us, but we need to remember, God’s will never changes. God says: I am the Lord that is my name. God is firm in what he says. If we will not listen and obey God, He will discipline us through consequences. God’s goal is that we learn to trust in Him. How many times have we said that we need to trust Him and even memorized it, yet still so often we don’t seem to learn.     As Matthew tells us about the birth of Jesus, we learn more about Joseph than at any other point in scripture. We learn the kind of person he was and most of all, we learn about who Jesus will be. Both Mary and Joseph were visited by angels of God. Angel visitations, and dreams are God’s way of saying. Just keep the faith. So, no matter what your situation looks like, what troubles you may have today… “God is with you”!     Advent and Christmas means celebrating the birth of a baby. Babies make no demands on anyone other than their parents or those caring for them. While we may enjoy holding babies, the moment they start fussing we quickly hand them back to their mother or father. If we forever view Jesus as an infant perhaps like our own children, we miss out on much of his life and teachings. It is so important that we be an example and share all we know of our Lord Jesus Christ.
