    Key Vocabulary:

    Bullsh*t - stupid or untrue talk or writing; nonsense.

    Keep that in mind - think about/remember something, especially for the future

    For the love of God - used to express annoyance (not a religious reference)

    Folks - people in general

    Talking points - things that will be discussed, a topic that invites discussion or argument

    Grinds my gears - To annoy or irritate someone

    Lemme tell you/ya - used for emphasizing what you are saying

    Straight up - truthfully/honestly

    I would be pissed - I would be angry

    Don't fix what ain't broken ALSO "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - Leave something alone; avoid attempting to correct, fix, or improve what is already sufficient (often with an implication that the attempted improvement is risky and might backfire)

    Loved ones - people in your family, people that you love

    Partner - the person you are in a romantic committed relationship with

    Parental - relating to one's parents

    Maternal - relating to one's mother/denoting feelings associated with or typical of a mother

    Paternal - relating to one's father/denoting feelings associated with or typical of a father

    Call out - draw critical attention to someone's unacceptable actions or behavior

    Super duper - basically this is a stronger way to say "very" (this phrase is quite casual, and usually people just say "super")

    When it comes to - to introduce a more specific topic or area that we want to talk about

    Stick up your butt/ass - to be very serious and easily offended, and always want rules to be obeyed

    Not what this is about - emphasizing that the topic is NOT related or intended to be something else

    Assimilate - take in (information, ideas, or culture) and understand fully

    Wanna - want to

    Ain't - are not/am not/is not

    Gonna - going to

    Shoulda/Coulda/Woulda - should have/could have/would have

    F**k that - an exclamation of utter disdain for and rejection of something

    No one messes with me - threatening/stating that negative actions towards you will not be tolerated and you will fight back (not usually physically)

    Empowered - make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights

    Run over - (of a vehicle) knock a person/animal/something down and drive over it

    Stand up for yourself - to support your own rights and feelings in the face of opposition

    F**k you/Go to H*ll - used to angrily tell someone to stop talking and go away

    That's sh*t - nonsense, foolishness, crap, especially trivial and usually boastful or inaccurate talk

    Caveat -  a warning to consider something before taking any more action, or a statement that limits a more general statement

    Enunciate  - say or pronounce clearly, generally in a more formal way

    Go against - oppose or resist something

    Take it with a grain of salt - to not completely believe something that you are told, have a skeptical attitude about something you are told/advised

    Come off - give a specified impression

    Don't know any better - someone does something bad or stupid because they have not been told or taught that it is wrong

    Vetting - make a careful and critical examination of someone/something

    Give credit to - to acknowledge someone's work, to give someone praise or recognition
