• Crying Your Way Through Breakups + An Urgent Bathroom PSA // #HuhneyCheck w/ Jenn Ungaro
    Feb 28 2023

We're back from a podcasting hiatus that happened to be in the depths of my emotions during my current breakup. Heartbreak f*cking sucks - there's no other way to say it. In this therapeutic episode (for me anyways), we cry it out, hunni gives me pep talks and we also share some anonymously submitted stories by listeners of some embarrassing things they did during their breakups.

In addition to some tears, we kick the episode out with a VERY IMPORTANT PSA. Remember the last #HuhNeyCheck episode where we talked about how to hide going to the bathroom when traveling with your partner? Ya, well those tips backfired for one of us and we lived to tell about it.

We love being back with you,

    Ally

  • Navigating Fertility, Hormones & Sharing a Personal IVF Journey w/ Taren Grewall
    Dec 7 2022

I might be in my early 30s, a common time of life when women my age already have children or are starting to think about getting pregnant - but for me personally, it's not at the top of my priority list. Because of that, I've been a bit removed from the personal fertility journeys that other women have been trying to navigate - until it started creeping into my friend circle. As my awareness grew, I started to wonder why, as women, we're not educated about proactively optimizing our reproductive & fertility health.

This week, I sit down with human movement specialist Taren Grewall as she opens up to share her long journey with IVF. During this episode we discuss:

    • The science behind understanding the female body
    • Why hormones matter
    • Taren’s fertility journey
    • Normalizing conversations around IVF
    • What is the egg-freezing process about?
    • Understanding your reproductive health
    • Birth control & synthetic hormones
    • How to check in with friends that are on fertility journeys

After completing the A La Ligne Method Mat Pilates Certification Program, Taren Grewall came on as the co-founder of what is now the House of A La Ligne. With her previous career as a Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer, Taren brought forth the fiery component of movement that was the perfect complement to the strength of Pilates. With a combination of both their modalities of movement and lived experiences, Katie and Taren have created a program that is deeply rooted in holistic movement and breath. With equal parts soft and strong, this practice is designed to have you moving in your everyday life with deeper power and connection. This practice is far from easy, but is designed for all levels.
