While church was instituted to be a loving community in which we can all pursue Jesus together, many people have had negative experiences with the church. Some of which have even led to psychological harm! One of my best friends, Heidi Ellis has recently completed a doctoral dissertation on this very issue! Her insights in what's going on, how do we measure it, and how do we prevent it are valuable for any church goer, and even more valuable for those who lead churches like myself!

It's not something I normally do, but today i'm sharing a sermon that I gave this week at my church, Pond Hill! It's a companion to the previous sermon, so I'd suggest listening to last episode before this one. I talked about work being intrinsic to the purpose of humanity!

This week, I'll discuss the early church's work ethic. They were radically others-focused and at the center of their generosity was the practice of breaking bread. We'll discuss what that means and how it has implications for us today!
