  • How To Be There For Your Friends
    Jun 8 2023
Welcome to this episode of Unlabled - authenticity is key. In today's episode, we're diving deep into the art of maintaining strong, loving friendships because my friendship bug has been on my head all week lol We all have friends or have HAD friends who have been with us through thick and thin, and these relationships are invaluable. However, with the hustle and bustle of modern life, it can be challenging to keep these bonds strong and healthy and that could leave your friends feeling neglected or burned out without you even realizing it. I'm sharing three essential steps to help you maintain and strengthen your friendships. Sometimes it's not that you don't CARE about being a "good" or "better" friend, it's that you don't know better. SO First up, we discuss communication - arguably THE foundation of any strong relationship. We emphasize the importance of both verbal and non-verbal communication in building and maintaining strong connections, which can be hard for neurodivergent people, who will come up a bit during this conversation also. Next, we dive into quality time - the act of prioritizing and scheduling regular activities that you both enjoy. Making sure that you're being considerate of your friends and their time and their needs. Finally, we explore supporting each other - being there for your friends during difficult times and in the everyday moments of life. I personally believe that if you don't know my day-to-day, you can't call yourself my friend. Now that thought process may not work for everybody, but that's the beauty in humanity: we're all different, and it helps to discuss these things so they're clear. Throughout the episode, we discuss common mistakes to avoid and offer additional tips and strategies for building strong friendships.
