Aber erst mit den Rock-And-Roll-Singles ab 1955 setzte sich das Format durch und hat seitdem mehrere musikalische Genres geprägt: Soul, Punk, Disco, Indie. Heute dient sie als Streaming-Single dazu, neue Bands durchzusetzen.
