    It is one of the greatest upsets in Gopher history and it's a great part of our celebration of 100 years of WCCO!

    In 1977, the Wolverines came to Minneapolis with a 6-0 record and a No. 1 ranking. When they left Memorial Stadium though, it was the upstart Gophers who somehow hoisted the Little Brown Jug.

    WCCO is looking back on our 100 years on the air! Today, we're going way back into the archives to the 1920s and the birth of the "singing" commercial jingle.

    When Washburn Crosby (now General Mills) purchased WCCO, they started finding new ways to market a new cereal. It became a radio landmark, the original sung "Wheaties Jingle".
