Growing up in the Wharton home was full of fun, discipline, laughter and Black identity. As the parents of three loving children, Nick and Regina wanted their children to experience things that they didn't experience on their own. Among other things, they taught their children the importance of higher education, and loving people. In this episode, you will hear the voice of Hasani Wharton, the only son and middle child of Nick and Regina. At three years old, Hasani experienced a glimpse of what it  felt like to be a Black man in America. With loving parents, prayer warriors and God, Hasani has learned how to navigate in society.

There is a thin line between respect and disrespect.  We are all different people, from different backgrounds that  have shaped our perspective of what we think respect is. Respect can be seen in many forms; communication, valuing each other's feelings and needs, honoring one another's boundaries and even taking some much needed time away.

Nick and Regina Wharton continue their conversation about  money, finances and the importance of giving back. For generations, the Black community has had limited access to building wealth. This was not an option for the Wharton family. Nick and Regina instilled the importance of responsibility, value and worth in their children at an early age. In this episode, you’ll meet Nikkia Wharton, the oldest of the Wharton children. She speaks about her transition from debt to building a wealthy investment portfolio and how seeing her parents live a life of love and service, molded her into the woman she is today.

Money mismanagement is one of the main reasons, many couples result to divorce. Nick and Regina learned the value of money and it’s importance from the world around them. 

Nick’s mom worked. Often times, his street smarts and go-getter attitude allowed him to  sell candy to his friends and neighbors. Regina was the product of a two parent home. Her dad owned a business and her mother was a stay-at-home mom. Two different people, from two different backgrounds, came together as one to build a legacy for their future.

In this episode, Nick and Regina continue to talk about their parenting styles and how they differ. As the parents of three Black children in America, they often speak about how they introduced their children to Black cultural experiences that shaped their overall perspectives in life.

Hadiya shares her experiences through her personal lens growing up in the Wharton household by herself. Her older brother, Hasani, was pursuing an education, while her older sister was working as an attorney. Parenting can be challenging. Early on in their marriage, Nicholas and Regina had a desire to be parents. After an infertility scare, they didn’t know if their dream would ever be a reality. With God’s divine timing and an experimental surgery, Regina gave birth to three beautiful children, Nikkia, Hasani and Hadiya.
