  • E31 - Givin' Thanks!
    Nov 15 2021

I am very grateful for our small audience. Our listeners, our subscribers. Thank you for giving us a listen! It's Thanksgiving time in the US, and I'm feeling a little wistful, but a whole lot of gratitude. To show you how much, I'm playing you some rock to remind you to be charitable via Hear N' Aid's "Stars", I'm using Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills" to remember the real reason for the season, bring it back around to thankfulness with some surprise Bad Brains, "Give Thanks and Praises"! "I Thank You" even more with a little ZZ Top, shake things up (it's pure chaos today at Wet Tee Shirt Podcast) by "Talking Turkey" with Electric Six, and help you recover from Thanksgiving with Steely Dan's "Black Friday". I add a dose of Cinderella in because the moment needed it with "Talk is Cheap", but in the end, my affection for our listeners is so very tender that we part ways with Ozzy Osbourne's cover of "In My Life" by The Beatles.

Thank you for the good times, keep rockin' hard, and Happy Holidays!

  • E30 Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild
    Nov 3 2021

It's Movember, and we're here to shed the costumes and the spooky music and get a couple of weeks of normalcy before we are rushed into the holiday season! This week, we pluck Skid Row's "Youth Gone Wild" right out of our own childhoods, talking the history of the band, the different paths they took, and beyond! We play some of the Skid Row tracks beyond the albums that we all know so well, and get into other branches of the family, checking out Sebastian Bach's first band, Kid Wikkid, post-Bach period bands Ozone Monday and The Last Hard Men, and even catch a track from Sebastian Bach's last solo record. Let us hear you wild!

  • E29 Alice Cooper - Feed My Frankenstein
    Oct 27 2021

    Boo!

This week on the Wet Tee Shirt Podcast, we are exploring classic movie monsters through the power of rock. We are starting out with Frankenstein, and since Alice Cooper keeps writing songs about Frank we chose The Godfather of Shock himself to build the theme around! We play "Teenage Frankenstein" and "Feed My Frankenstein", then follow it up with our vampire pick - Judas Priest's "Love Bites". For our wolfie banger, we picked Uriah Heep's "Night of the Wolf", and since there aren't any WTSP friendly songs about mummies per se, we picked zombies as the perfect substitute, and went with Ozzy Osbourne's "Zombie Stomp". To round things out we picked a tune about witches, the theatrical "Eye of the Witch" by King Diamond, and went out on Faster Pussycat's cover of "Monster Mash". The whole damned thing is a graveyard smash!

Candace put together a Wet Tee Shirt Podcast Halloween Playlist on Spotify that is a collection of all of the songs that we've played on the show this year that would work for a Halloween party soundtrack! Enjoy:

  • E28 Dokken - Dream Warriors
    Oct 21 2021

    One, two...gonna podcast for you!

This week we are again joined by filmmaker Andrew Shearer of Gonzorrific Films because there is no way we could talk about anything related to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" without him. This is a very special episode of our Halloween edition shows, as the three of us were practically raised on Elm Street and are definitely kids who can talk a whole, whole lot about Freddy Krueger and the whole series!  Of course, our focus is at least mostly on "Dream Warriors", but Freddy is such a part of the eighties, so much a part of American culture when the music that we talk about the most was going on. We talk about how special the music video for the song is, also enjoying "Into the Fire" as it appeared in the opening sequence of the film. Then we make our way through the rock of the film franchise that followed! We share Vinnie Vincent Invasion's "Love Kills" from the fourth film in the franchise, Bruce Dickinson's "Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter" from the fifth, and we slam Sepultura's "The Waste" featuring Mike Patton from the "Freddy vs. Jason" soundtrack...and much, much, MUCH more! If you love these films, if you were raised on Krueger, this show is for you! Happy Halloween!

  • E27 Motley Crue - You're All I Need
    Oct 13 2021

We're on our second of four weeks of Halloween! This one we're dedicating to the murder ballad classic, "You're All I Need". And sure, we're going to talk about Motley Crue's bloody lyricism, and we might be playing "Red Hot" and "Too Young to Fall in Love" during that discussion, but we've already done a Motley episode (Live Wire) this year. And there are more songs about murder and love to explore! So we're also talking about Guns 'n Roses' "Used to Love Her" and Pantera's "This Love". And Kiss' "Hide Your Heart". Because if you want to stay safe, you should always heed their warnings. It's always best to listen to Paul Stanley's advice in sticky situations. For those watching along, we are absolutely in costume - Candace is some freshly murdered ex, and guest co-host Jay Tray is masquerading as Jay Sixx - a damned near copy of what Nikki Sixx looks like when he plays cop dress up.

Summary: Nikki Sixx will kill you if you cheat on him, and it's October at Wet Tee Shirt Podcast!

  • E26 Dangerous Toys - Scared
    Oct 6 2021

    Do you like being scared?

We certainly do, and that's why Wet Tee Shirt Podcast is kicking off October with four weeks of Halloween, beginning with the Dangerous Toys classic, "Scared". Candace the Clown has some pretty specific criteria when it comes to music she's up for playing this month, so the songs all have to have something about them that works in a Halloween playlist! Thankfully, Dangerous Toys make playing this game easy...once we get past our spooky news segment, we start off with Jason McMaster's former project, Watchtower, and a song from their only record with him, "Asylum"! Then we make our way into the band that we all know him for, and after watching the "Scared" video, we also catch "Bones in the Gutter" from the same debut album, "Demon Bell" from their contribution to the Wes Craven's "Shocker" soundtrack, we go to 1994's "Pissed" and let things get a little "Strange" before we finish our tour of the Toys' catalog with a listen to "Monster Man" from 1995's "The R*tist 4*merly Known as Dangerous Toys" record. This episode is full of carnival sounds, costumes, finding ways to keep talking about "No More Tears", and spooky ooky things! We even finish you off with Fastway's "Trick-or-Treat". It's time to clown around! Take mommy's lace and the whiskey off the top shelf, rent yourself some spiders, snakes, and rats, and don't forget to allow your hair to dry without a dedicated part! Happy Halloween, first week of October style!

  • E25 Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears
    Sep 30 2021

It's almost October, and we can't start this spooky season without a session with the Prince of Darkness himself! September is a big anniversary month for a lot of things in the Ozzyverse - Black Sabbath's "Paranoid", Ozzy's debut solo album "Blizzard of Ozz", and of course "No More Tears" all dropped in Septembers! So this week we've got a lot of story to tell - we start with the purest of beginnings, and listen to Earth's "The Rebel" before everything went dark mwahaha - we stop off on "Paranoid" to attend an "Electric Funeral", talk about Sabbath lore and Satanism before making our way to the first solo record and the lawsuit-inducing jam "Suicide Solution". We talk our way through the next ten years to the song of the day, "No More Tears", which leaves us a little speechless. When we recover, we talk about the next ten years, stopping off at "Down to Earth" to catch "Gets Me Through", ending up in 2020 to watch the video for "Under the Graveyard". What a career, what a legend, what an episode!

  • E24 Tora Tora - Walkin' Shoes
    Sep 22 2021

We put on our talkin' shoes, and this week we're talking about Tora Tora! It's not the longest or the most chaotic story we've ever told by a long shot, but we have a lot to say about a lot of things, so there is plenty to hear. We jam to "Walkin' Shoes", change into our dancin' shoes for "Dead Man's Hand", join together for "Let Us Be One", and sneak in that new track, "Trip the Light Fantastic". We threw in that new L.A. Guns video, "Cannonball" because we can't believe we JUST missed it for last week's episode, and we finish you off with Aerosmith's "Last Child". You are absolutely welcome!
