  • Pink Cadillac
    Jul 25 2024
Folks... sometimes (but not often) Clint Eastwood tried his hand at comedy and this is indeed one of them. The guys discuss Clint teaming with Bernadette Peters to fight white supremacists (!) in the light(?)-hearted comedy, Pink Cadillac. There is much to behold here from Clint's goofy character work, the delightful Bernadette Peters being good at everything, the whole thing working better as a sitcom (don't steal our idea, TM TM) than a 2-hour PLUS movie, the Jim Carrey cameo and much more. • I Believe in Santa
    Jul 18 2024
Our wonderful patron Megan Miller demanded it and so we acquiesced! The guys celebrate Christmas in July by discussing I Believe in Santa, a movie that seems like it could become a serial killer movie at any given moment. They also discuss how this is somehow not a Hallmark movie, Tom being an unhinged psychopath, the flirting with a Christian movie, the token minority characters that only exist to prop up our love interests, a blood feud between an adult and child and much more. Next week: Make my day, cadillac. What We've Been Watching: Inside Out 2 "The Boys" (Season 4) Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Jul 11 2024
The guys finally tackle the notorious flop and the film that made Sean Connery quit acting - The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Joining the fellas is Nathan's Jason in the form of Ben Gillcrist, history buff at large. After Ben talks about his frustration with the historical inaccuracies, the guys also discuss Alan Moore's strategy at detaching himself from adaptations of his work, Mina Harker being reduced to a side character, Dorian Gray having old man qualities, the incredibly fake explosions and MUCH more. Jun 27 2024
Listeners Choice Month FINISHES with a... BANG! Capping off this month from Hell, the guys talk about the Tori Spelling Lifetime movie Co-ed Call Girl, a movie that's about as sexy as a bowl of lentil soup. Speaking of sexy, the fellas discuss all of the insane outfits that Spelling wears, the concept of love-stalking, the Backdoor Bakery, the classical pianist client, the courtroom scene and much more. • The Genesis Code
    Jun 20 2024
Listeners Choice Month continues! In this week's episode, the guys suffer for your pleasure! They endure the 137-minute (!) Christian propaganda/hockey romance/dissertation movie The Genesis Code. Oh, you've never heard of it? Of course you haven't! This film has got all you desire though like a ONE-HOUR scene where characters just explain the Genesis Code (the theory), an evil academic advisor tells people to cool it with all the God talk if they wanna make it in the world and big-name actors? You like them? Well, get excited for about 5-6 minutes of Ernest Borgnine, Lance "Henrickson" (spelled incorrectly by the opening credits), Louise Fletcher, Fred Thompson, Catherine Hicks and Rance Howard. Oh, I meant 5-6 minutes TOTAL... like shared between everyone. Egads, this movie. Next week: Listeners Choice Month comes grinding to a finish with the Tori Spelling TV movie Co-Ed Call Girl. • Warriors of Virtue
    Jun 13 2024
Listeners Choice Month continues! In this week's episode, the guys are "treated" to the kangaroo/martial arts/YA (?) movie Warriors of Virtue. This is a mystifying movie in many ways but the guys dive deep into the story arcs that are abruptly dropped, Angus Macfayden's amazing and highly sexual performance, the jumpy slow-motion used in EVERY fight scene, the kangaroos themselves having no personalities and much more. Plus: Brendan reveals a sacred childhood connection to the movie. Next week: Listeners Choice Month continues with... The Genesis Code! • Battleship
    Jun 6 2024
Listeners Choice Month! It's one of the most special times of the year in which we turn the book over to YOU, the listeners! Starting off this whirlwind of a month is 2012's Peter Berg Hasbro epic BATTLESHIP starring Taylor Kitsch and a quick dash of Liam Neeson. Why DID they make a movie based on a game like this? Does a burrito become a major plot point right up until the end of the film? How does one get promoted to lieutenant in 48 hours after joining the Navy? Could the aliens look worse? And holy moley at that entrance of the war veterans, eh? Join the guys as they rant about this, pogs for some reason and again ask WHY DID THEY MAKE A MOVIE BASED ON BATTLESHIP?
