What happens to a victim post-rescue?

  • Summary

  • In the late 90s and early  2000s mass raids were conducted to rescue women and girls in the red light areas. There was significant importance given to the rescue, while barely any regard to what happened to victims post their rescue. A lot of these women and girls were rescued to only get trafficked again. In this episode, Dr.Pravin Patkar the Co-founder of Prerana and case workers Geetarani Lourembam and Annette Joseph talk about the rehabilitation of victims post the rescue operation.

    They answer questions like,

What happens to the victims after they are rescued?

What is the role of organisations like Prerana in the process of post rescue ?

What is Prerana’s model of Post Rescue Operations (PRO)?

What is the role of case workers in this process?
