  • We aim to provide guidance by exploring interventional approaches to the management of atrial fibrillation and mitigation of thromboembolic risk. We will provide a review of interventional approaches including AF ablation for the management of atrial fibrillation and briefly discuss left atrial occlusion devices. Additionally, surgical techniques will be described in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Lastly, incidence, risk factors and management of post-operative AF will be discussed.
