  • Millions across the state will be heading to the polls today, in what has been one of the most dramatic lead ups to a local government election in living memory.

    The failure of the Liberal Party state executive to nominate around 140 candidates has left the party in disarray, with eight councils not having a single Lib on the ballot today.

    There are 14 councils that haven't had enough nominations to hold elections, so those who have nominated, will be elected unopposed.

    Luke Grant chats with the Executive Director of Elections at the NSW Electoral Commission, Andrea Summerell, to give you all the information you need to ensure your vote counts.
