  • 006 - The Art of Belonging (feat. Kye Akoun)
    Jun 6 2023

In this cathartic episode with queer recording and visual artist Kye Akoun, we discuss trauma, the importance of space and the consequences of artistic segregation. Are we more motivated when we are alone on our journey? Does our physical environment, country, city matter when it comes to being an artist? How can we cultivate the best environment for being in a creative flow? Do we really need to belong to a creative scene to validate our artistic integrity?

  • 005 - The Unfulfilled Shapeshifter (A Queer Identity Crisis)
    Mar 17 2023

In this very personal episode I explore the paradigm of shapeshifting, and talk about vulnerability through queer identity. Why are we so inclined to have identity crises as queers? Is it possible to have identity dysphoria in adulthood? What causes queer identity shame? What is a good queer reference point? How to accept the beauty and multi-faceted nature of identity? Are we lost? Or just multi-faceted?

  • 004 - Finding Home Within (feat. Judas Mordache)
    Jan 23 2023

Sometimes migrating to an entirely new environment as an artist can be paralyzing. I sit with Judas, a creative director and designer based in Paris, to discuss what it feels like to leave home and find a new sanctuary to build. What is home away from home? How intrusive do we have to be to achieve maximum opportunity? Will I be considered a sell-out if I compromise pride to open every door offered to me? Will changing career location affect mental health? What about feelings of doubt, entrapment and inferiority, will these go away once an artist moves to a new city? Perhaps the only way to find home everywhere we go is to stop outsourcing its search and start building it from within.

  • 003 - Inside The Outsider (feat. Marge)
    Dec 20 2022

Tune into a conversation whereby VENUS and Marge, a French cinematographer and photographer, discuss the power of aloneness, self-exploration and introspection. Are we pressured to believe that we should never experience negative emotion? Is positive psychology so positive afterall? Are the people you love ready to see you at your darkest state? Is effort the biggest indicator of love? What happens to the lonely creator in a world with so much forced community? Who is inside the outsider?

  • 002 - It's Okay To Cry (feat. Thx4Crying)
    Nov 20 2022

French queer musician Thx4Crying sits down with artist Venus Bleeds to discuss what it means to be feminine and vulnerable in a world where both virtues are looked at as a weakness, particularly in men. In this chat, we discuss femininity, growing up queer, the importance of vulnerability in art and having queer icons as a child. How do we find strength in femininity? Is our vulnerability our biggest strength? Why is it okay to cry? And how do we handle the shame that comes from being marginalized? What references do queer kids have growing up?

  • 001 - Being The Slow Creator (feat. Antonius Ghosn)
    Nov 9 2022

Film director Antonius Ghosn sits down with artist Venus Bleeds to discuss what it means to be a slow creator in a fast-paced digital realm of constant noise on social media. In this chat, we discuss creative identity, growing up queer and the importance of vulnerability in art. Are we given a creative path? Or should we spend our entire life striving for it? Where does meaning manifest in a life that deems itself almost purposeless? And by then, how can a creator find meaning in their work?
