Today we push forward in our study of Paul’s letter to the Galatians, discovering more truths that shape our identity. As we live in the freedom of the Gospel, we see that the law is powerless. With Jesus sacrifice on the cross, He abolished the law and the need to work or earn our salvation. Paul helps us see that the purpose of the law is because of our sin, until God sent Jesus Christ to be the full atonement for our sins. What a privilege that we can be free in Christ and have the promise of adoption of faith in Christ alone. We read what Paul exclaimed, “For in Jesus Christ you are all sons of God, through faith...heirs according to the promise.” Through faith in Christ, we are no longer slaves but sons and heirs of God. Today, we are continuing our series, Good News, looking at the truth and hope of the Gospel. We'll ask the question, how do we experience the blessings of God? In Galatians, we see how Paul desires the church of Galatia to not believe in a false gospel, he urges them to believe in the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s blessing comes by faith alone in Christ alone. In obedience to Christ, we must surrender our efforts and trust in Jesus, He has won, and we can have hope in Him. Paul asked direct questions to the church in this passage that allowed them to think through how they were experiencing the blessings of God in their lives. As we dive into another week of our Good News message series, we will see this week that the Gospel alone is all we need. Paul writes in his letter to Galatia that he has been crucified with Christ, stating that Christ lives in him, no longer did he allow his flesh to lead him. As fellow believers in Jesus, this truth is the same for us. When we came to know Christ Jesus, we surrendered our lives to Him, from there our lives are transformed by faith in God. In this chapter, we see that nothing but the Gospel is needed. The Gospel is our source of freedom, ministry, and justification. We have access to lean on Jesus at any moment. The Gospel is rich in hope for a weary world.
