  • May 2022 - June 101
    May 7 2022

XRadio brings you summer a month early with the XRadio Featured Artist of the Month for May 2022; UK-based emerging indie/alt-rock artist June 101. Their first single, Seven Days, was released in January and is only the beginning for this emerging artist!

June 101 has over twenty years of experience in music production, which certainly left an impact on writing and recording bedroom ideas into expressive music.

No guidelines. No rules. Just music.

What makes it even more interesting is his reluctance to reveal any information about himself. He owns his own small studio in which all the recording and production takes place.

After successfully releasing their first single Seven Days in January 2022; a second single, Anger, was released last month. Both songs are part of the upcoming debut album “1:01” and both also were released with a music video on YouTube.

All singles and the album will be released on all major streaming platforms.

  • April 2022 - Monotronic
    Apr 2 2022

Monotronic – XRadio Featured Artist of the Month [April 2022]

The XRadio Featured Artist of the Month for April 2022 is the American indietronic group, Monotronic. Hailing from New York City, Monotronic has been buzzing around the internet with their hit single, Kids of Summer.

Since emerging in 2016, Monotronic have maintained their status as a ponderous and provocative enigma. Conceived by guitarist/producer Ramsey Elkholy, Monotronic started as a loose collective of NYC-based musicians. The rotating cast of musicians have shared the stage and recorded with the likes of Joe Jackson, Robert Randolph, Elliot Moss, The Spin Doctors and Dweezil Zappa, to name a few.

The Monotronic sound is a combination of electronic music with a wide range of cultural influences, mostly drawn from Elkholy’s time spent in Calcutta studying Indian classical music and his travels throughout Southeast Asia, where he spent nearly two years in the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia among the Orang Rimba tribe. He describes Monotronic as “a concept, whereby each instrument can be heard as a continuation of the other and the music sounds as one distinct whole, emanating from a single source”. Along with performing at iconic venues up and down the East Coast and New York City, the band has also graced the bills of festivals such as Disc Jam and Meeting of the Minds.

DJ Gerty – XRadio Featured Artist of the Month [March 2022]

XRadio brings to you our very own in-house broadcaster, DJ Gerty as the XRadio Featured Artist of the Month for March 2022. This Hungarian electronic music artist is lighting up the internet with her new album, Hard Days, released February 20, 2022 on Bandcamp.

DJ Gerty has always had an interest towards arts and has education in both fine and applied arts, but she was always more into composing music. A self-taught composer, DJ Gerty learned piano at age 7 and began to seriously delve into electronic music after her teens, releasing music on YouTube.

However, it wasn’t until DJ Gerty released her EP, Mindpowers in 2021 that she decided to get more serious about composing and releasing music. Her music is based on heavy electronic sound, metal, punk mixed with melodies; and you can catch DJ Gerty on YouTube and Bandcamp, and now you can hear her here on XRadio!

  • February 2022 - Tin:Ma
    Feb 5 2022

XRadio is happy to present to you the XRadio Featured Artist of the Month for February 2022, French-Canadian non-binary artist, Tin:Ma. Materializing from online spheres, Tin:Ma continues to subvert conventional genre practices. On New-Year’s Eve 2021, Tin:Ma released their EP Move which has been gaining some attention and has been described as “sucking you in, spitting you out and leaving you naked. Intense and not for the faint of heart, yet incredibly tender and beautiful.” [3Fach].

XRadio will be playing "My Love's Gone" from that EP in high rotation through the month of February.

The pandemic has been extremely difficult for Tin:Ma. In 2020, the artist lost their apartment and all their sources of income. Leaving behind their home, friends, and beloved city, they were forced to move to rural Canada where they have remained mostly isolated throughout the pandemic. Seeking to reject the inertness brought about by the isolation, the sadness they experience having to leave their home, and the crippling uncertainty of emerging artists in the post-COVID world, Tin:Ma began putting everything they had into this project. With no support or funding, Move is the coming together of artists—young Queer individuals—who are actively defying the inertness that has been placed on the arts by this pandemic.

Tin:Ma“It really felt like I had lost everything, I felt so helpless and lost. I thought my artistic voice would support me through the pandemic, but it didn’t. A lot of artists were left behind […] Move really helped me overcome that and forced me to continue to move forward: I could now embrace the cluster of emotions, of states, I had experienced.”
