  • York Business Improvement District (BID) is a not-for-profit organisation with over 900 businesses paying a mandatory levy which is invested back in to the city centre for improvements.

    Since it launched in 2016, the BID has invested £5.8 million into various projects.

    Sophie Hudson went along to the York BID offices to meet Andrew Lowson - the Executive Director.

    Andrew speaks passionately about what the future holds, especially with a lot of exciting developments in the pipeline for York. He also talks through the latest stats on visitor and shopper numbers in the city centre – particularly after a very difficult few years for businesses.
