  • PLEASE STAND-BY! What You Need to Know About Stand-by Pay.
    Jun 21 2021

A recent discussion at the office led to a show about that very conversation.  The guys were involved with a client's request for support on managing and properly compensating a short term workforce increase which included possible stand-by hours.

Upon doing a bit more research in support of the client, what we found was both expected and frankly a little surprising.  There are some things one needs to know about what California Labor Law has to say when it comes to placing an employee on stand-by.

Before you do, listen to this weeks show on the topic and steer clear of potential wage and hour claims that arise when certain procedures and guidelines are not followed.

  • A Conversation with NAPEO CEO Pat Cleary
    May 31 2021

Greg and John sit down with our very own Trade Association's CEO, Mr. Pat Cleary.  NAPEO (National Association of Professional Employer Organizations) is a trade association and lobbying group for the PEO industry.

Of particular interest is the industry white paper discussed during the show.  That document illustrated in stark detail the effect of the Pandemic on small business.  Pull up a seat and listen in while Pat covers the bases and explains the positive impacts PEO companies have made for small business.  From the early phases of PPP to ERTC and more, there is sure to be something of interest.

  • A Conversation about Professional Employer Organizations
    May 3 2021

Another "Conversation About" style show, this one is about PEO companies. The guys grab the mics and join Greg in doing some defining around PEO and it's variations known as ASO, (Administrative Services Outsourcing) HRO, (Human Resource Outsourcing) and pure payroll service offerings.

The guys get out into the weeds about Workers' Comp, EPLI, shared risk & liability and wage & hour compliance, just to get started!

From risk pools to tactical HR compliance and EDD reporting to Benefits administration, your PEO answers are likely going to be found here.

If you are an employer looking to ease the burden of ever widening compliance nets, reducing risks and lowering administrative expenses, this is the show for you.
