This week we took a look at the 1999 lake horror/monster/suspense movie, Lake Placid. A giant oversized croc is loose in the wilderness of New England and it's up to a plucky group of strangers to figure out what's going on and how to stop it. The movie has plenty of scares, gore and laughs and even an appearance from the legendary Betty White. You really can't ask for much more than that.

We know that our beer choice for the week, Alpha Gator by Abita Brewing, may have been slightly off the mark but we also instantly thought of this movie when we saw the can. No time for double checking croc or gator at the time and by the time we realized it was already too late. And although it may not have been the right animal, it was the right choice. This beer was excellent and surpassed all expectations. Just be careful, this gator might be biting back.
