Christian Morgenstern, am 06.05.1871 als Nachkomme einer Malerfamilie in München geboren, studierte zunächst Volkswirtschaft und Jura, später Philosophie und Kunstgeschichte. Seine ersten heiter-grotesken Dichtungen wie "Galgenlieder" und "Palmström" machten ihn sehr rasch bekannt. Eine innere Krise beendete Morgensterns "weltliche Epoche" und führte ihn zu Nietzsche, Kierkegaard und Meister Eckhart.
