Story
Biblical womanhood - the belief that God designed women to be submissive wives, virtuous mothers, and joyful homemakers - pervades North American Christianity. From choices about careers to roles in local churches to relationship dynamics, this belief shapes the everyday lives of evangelical women. Yet biblical womanhood isn't biblical, says Baylor University historian Beth Allison Barr. It was born in a series of clearly definable historical moments.

Story
Doctrine is the word Christians use to define the truth-claims revealed in Holy Scripture. Of course, there is a multitude of churches, church networks, and denominations, each with their own doctrinal statement with many points of disagreement. But while Christians disagree on a number of doctrines, there are key elements that cannot be denied by anyone claiming to be a follower of Jesus.

Story
The doctrine of reprobation—that is, the eternal, unconditional decree of God for the non-elect—is frequently misconstrued in both pastoral and theological literature. In Reprobation and God's Sovereignty, Peter Sammons reintroduces this oft-misunderstood doctrine, revealing its relationship to divine sovereignty. With Romans 9 as a guiding text, Sammons presents a thoroughly researched defense of reprobation as an essential part in a Reformed theology that magnifies God and encourages believers to trust in him.

Story
According to the Bible, the stakes could not be greater, Heaven or Hell. Jesus stated, in Matthew 7:13-14, that the gate to Hell is wide, but the gate to Heaven is narrow and the way to Heaven is difficult. However, the doctrines of the Prosperity Gospel, the Secret Rapture and Once Saved Always Saved paint a different picture. These doctrines tell us that God wants all Christians to be rich; that God will not allow Christians to suffer in the Great Tribulation; that even if you were not ready when Jesus returns to rapture His Church, you will receive a second chance to be saved later; and,...

In Christ Alone: Audio Lectures, Stephen Wellum considers Christ's singular uniqueness and significance biblically, historically, and today, in our pluralistic and postmodern age. Each lesson examines the historical roots of the doctrine, especially in the Reformation era, and shows how the uniqueness of Christ has come under specific attack today. Then, learners will walk through the story line of Scripture, from Christ's unique identity and work as prophet, priest, and king, to the application of his work to believers and our covenantal union with him.

When the disciples of Jesus asked him what would be the signs of his return and the end of the world, he preached the Olivet Discourse in reply, telling them about false Christs and spiritual deception, nations and kingdoms going to war, earthquakes, famines, and plagues that would come...the beginning of sorrows. He told them about armies surrounding Jerusalem and a man of sin desecrating the rebuilt Temple of God. Jesus Christ answered his disciples questions and so much more, but out of all he told them about his future return he NEVER MENTIONED the Pretrib Rapture. Isn't it odd that we ...

Does salvation hinge on divine decree or human choice? Are we puppets in a predetermined script, or does grace invite everyone to respond? For centuries, these questions have fueled some of the most passionate debates in Christian history. Some insist that God selects only a chosen few, while others hold fast to the belief that anyone can accept His grace. If you’ve ever wrestled with these ideas—or want to understand why so many do—this book is for you. This is not just another theology book. It’s a clear, compelling guide to Arminianism, the often-misunderstood perspective that ...

Story
Pilgrim Theology is a map for Christians seeking to better understand the core beliefs of their faith. Even though it's the study of God, theology has a reputation for being dry, abstract, and irrelevant for daily living. But theology is a matter of life and death. It affects the way you think, the decisions you make, the way you relate to God and the world. Reformed theologian and professor Michael Horton wrote Pilgrim Theology as a more accessible companion to his award-winning systematic theology The Christian Faith.

Story
Bible study and especially deeper theology is far more vast than most people realize. People who teach from the Holy Scriptures can be very sincere but also sincerely wrong. This is error, rather than "false teaching" which always has an evil motive behind it, such as gleaning wealth from God's people, purposefully confusing them and claiming to be something they are not. This includes Prophets (some men really are Prophets), healers (this supernatural gift does operate today as God wills but some men use false chicanery), and the list goes on.

Story
Although the thoughts and ideas of Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, and Sigmund Freud have no doubt greatly impacted modern civilization, still many of their central doctrines remain shrouded in ambiguity, imprecision, and lack of evidence. The fact that they all shamelessly engaged in continuous revisions, denials, and withdrawals of multiple aspects and even key features of their core doctrines during their lifetimes makes concise and authentic descriptions of these doctrines exceedingly difficult, if not untenable. Yet bounteous homage, fervent respect, and near-sacred reverence of these ...

English Baptists migrated to the American colonies during the 17th century. Stated simply, the Genesis Gap is the belief that angels rebelled against God at a time not revealed but that was obviously previous to Adam and Eve, who were given dominion of the Earth, after it was destroyed by God and recreated. This is why we see a finished heaven and Earth in Genesis 1:1, followed by an Earth that is covered by darkness and a catastrophic flood of water in verse two.

Covenant nurture of Christian children must begin with God's promises about covenant succession. Christian parents today face a disturbing exodus of their children from the Church to the world. Why is this? What is the place of children within the faith? What do the promises mean? Recognizing that this subject is fraught with difficulty and grief, the twelve contributors to this volume seek to address the hard questions and lay a biblical foundation of hope for our children.

Story
Many Christians struggle to make sense of their faith and work. Some are taught the only value in their work is evangelism among their coworkers and earning money to donate to the church and missions. With more than 25 years working in the business sector, Hugh Whelchel was just that guy. He knew there had to be more. His thorough investigation reveals the eternal significance of work within the grand, Biblical story of God's mission throughout history.
