About this listen

The apocalypse will be televised!

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible.

In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground.

The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot. A dungeon so enormous, it circles the entire globe.

Only a few dare venture inside. But once you're in, you can't get out. And what's worse, each level has a time limit. You have but days to find a staircase to the next level down, or it's game over. In this game, it's not about your strength or your dexterity. It's about your followers, your views. Your clout. It's about building an audience and killing those goblins with style.

You can't just survive here. You gotta survive big.

You gotta fight with vigor, with excitement. You gotta make them stand up and cheer. And if you do have that "it" factor, you may just find yourself with a following. That's the only way to truly survive in this game - with the help of the loot boxes dropped upon you by the generous benefactors watching from across the galaxy.

They call it Dungeon Crawler World. But for Carl, it's anything but a game.

so good and so foul

I don't normally listen to books like this. I just don't like all the language. But the narrator was so good I just kept listening "for just a few more minutes" - and then was done. I felt a little more corrupted afterwards... but I just got the next book.

Entertaining and a great laugh

The production quality of the readers team is fabulous. Helps bring out the stories “Borderland”esque humor and definitely put a smile on your face as you listen to the creative story. Carls voice actor has a hint of the actor who does Putty in Seinfeld and will have you saying his reluctant catchphrase.

A lot of fun

This book was a ton of fun. Over all great time. Took me a minute to get used to the narrator but once I did I loved his voice… like Nick Offerman mixed with Patrick Warburton.

Surprisingly good

I was a pretty nervous about taking this book on, but it really was delightful. The bizarre situations, off-the-wall descriptions, and Witt commentary are wonderful.

I really found myself rooting for Carl and Princess Donut. Definitely would recommend, especially to those who like a book with a lot of personality, are okay with a little wackiness, and are interested in litRPG.

Hilarious, Amazing Writing!

The writing combined with the narrator made a perfect match! The dialogue felt so real with the characters getting interrupted mid-sentence, and not always having the perfect flow. The narrator was spot-on with all the different voices. The audible version added so much to the overall experience.

Dungeon Crawler Carl was a perfect mix of realism, comedy and seriousness. I highly recommend!

First audio book I’ve listened to in a while. It was a ton of fun to listen too, and the voices made it completely.

Great all the way up

Finishing book 3, I was amazed how much depth the characters got, even the damn cat. The story also gets insanely complex by book 3, encompassing the universe and thousands of years of history and intrigue. This series should not be underestimated. I cannot wait for the rest of the series.

By far the best LitRPG I’ve ever listened to or read

This novel has everything you could possibly want: action, adventure, humor, which, and loads of creativity.

Everything is masterfully done. This is my first read of this author’s work, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next one. Amazing writing (great storytelling and character development), and awesome production value on the recording.

Yes, there are some “raunchy” moments and profanity, but it serves the story. Listen to this book. You won’t be disappointed
