About this listen

In his continuing quest to earn college recommendation letters from the gods, Percy has to pet sit the goddess Hecate's polecat and giant mastiff during Halloween week. What could go wrong?

Rick Riordan’s newest Percy Jackson adventure is full of hilarious set pieces, a diverse cast of gods and monsters, and many other delightful tricks and treats. Percy Jackson, now a high school senior, needs three recommendation letters from the Greek gods in order to get into New Rome University. He earned his first one by retrieving Ganymede’s chalice. Now the goddess Hecate has offered Percy another “opportunity”—all he has to do is pet sit her polecat, Gale, and mastiff, Hecuba, over Halloween week while she is away. Piece of cake, right?

Percy, Annabeth, and Grover settle into Hecate’s seemingly endless mansion and start getting acquainted with the fussy, terrifying animals. The trio has been warned not to touch anything, but while Percy and Annabeth are out at school, Grover can’t resist drinking a strawberry-flavored potion in the laboratory. It turns him into a giant frenzied goat, and after he rampages through the house, damaging everything in sight, and passes out, Gale and Hecuba escape.

Now the friends have to find Hecate’s pets and somehow restore the house, all before Hecate gets back on Saturday. It’s going to take luck, demigod wiles, and some old and new friends to hunt down the animals and set things right again.

Not very dramatic, yet very

It seemed like Rick Riordan tried a little to hard to make it so Percy had a “lesson”, and it just seemed a little forced. Along with that, it seemed a little low on comedy. There was a lot of jokes, but none made me laugh like they usually do. Lastly for the negative comments, the story line was missing something big. I have read The Titan’s curse exactly 91 times, and am planning to continue to make that number larger, but I will probably only listen to this book one-two times more. But, there was a lot of great parts in the story, and definitely enough drama to keep me reading. The performance was very nice, though I had to speed it up to 1.25, but that is just how I like my books read. Over all, it is a very good book, and if you have read the original Percy Jackson books, all the way to trials of Apollo, and chalice of the gods, I definitely recommend this. It needed work for sure, but I enjoyed it. Those were some things that I liked and disliked about it, and I know I hated on it a lot, but it really is good. I hope you have a very good day, and wake up refreshed, and content tomorrow, along with all the other days to come.

one of the best books full of adventures.

I have been reading Rick Riordan's books since I was 12. and I'm 23. I've grown with Percy as he has grown with me and the adventures still continue.

Amazing straight up amazing

This is so good and not what I expected in an amazing way. This book is one of the best. It is hilarious to🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩. I am just so happy that we get to have another story of Percy and Annabeth and Grover. they just had so much story to tell .and I love the ending a lot were a lot of the campers from camp half blood came . I just love it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I think my new favorite character is nope he is so cute 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Because the book series is taking place before the trials of Apollo. I think Jason should be in that next one. Because I feel like we need more stories with Jason because there is some more stories to tell with him 😁😁😁😁

Fantastic addition to the series!

Fantastic addition to the series! I read everything Percy Jackson related and they are some of my all time favorites. Sad that there is only one more book left in this series, but hopeful for more stories to come!

“My job was Ocean ☠️

Alllllllll the emotions! SO funny. Good ol’ fashioned trio hijinks. Beautiful Percabeth moments. I love Rick writing in the mannerisms of Walker/Leah/Aryan. 6 out of 5 stars, will read again.

The humor and revisiting old friends!

I wish the books were longer like the others in the Percy Jackson series! I am hoping the next book will go back to the longer length!
