Excellent continuation of the first book
Really enjoyed the story and character development. And happy to see a conclusion to the events of book 1, although I felt the final battle was a bit lacking.
Same complaints with the narrator, talks too fast. Still slowing this one down as I did with the first one. Narrator made several mistakes reading the same line twice multiple times, more so than book 1.
Either way, I’m engrossed in the story and eager to see how it plays out in the rest of the series. I strongly recommend this book. It’s just fun and leaves you wanting to find out what happens next without so much suspense that you can’t focus on what’s going on.

Awesome listen, couldn’t put it down. Had to rewind a few times to understand several areas where it wasn’t clear what was going on. Glad they took the magic shield out of play. Need the 3rd book in audio.

Great fun! Needs Work with Pacing.
He talks about the big battle for half of the first book and most of the second book. And it’s over in one short chapter. 20 minutes to tell how the new weapons work and a quick scene at the end. Boom.
That’s really my only complaint. The book is good fun so far. I enjoyed the strategizing scenes and the prep work up north, but why the rush with the Big Battle?

What a super poignant adventure!
You know this book has so many things I just hope whoever reads this review is looking for something super fun, poignant, imaginative, thought provoking and a wild adventure guess what (you will equally enjoy book No. 1) The Trumpets you’ve found it! Really. Over to you….
P.S.: The narrator is exemplary a work of true art. HE takes it to a stellar level. Bravo.
