Publisher's summary

He's coming for you.

Death is meant to come on a chariot of broken dreams or in the dark trenches of a storm, not in love letters and gifts.

He did not take my soul when I was meant to die. He did not want it all the other times that I've offered it to him on a silver platter. Yet, time and time again, he reminds me that I am his: His night monster, his dark love, his perfect other.

Death was the only thing keeping me alive. He watches me from his corner, taunts me with sweet messages, marks my body with his touch as I sleep.

He took the people that I love away from me. Still, no one believed me when I said that I saw the faceless man on the night of the accident.

No one can escape death.

Me? I'm chasing it.

Creative storyline

I love the idea for the book. The author made the idea of Death being obsessed with you extremely hot. However, I found it slightly dull - much of it was the character whining about how she was going insane, not much other substance. There was one really great spicy scene - honestly if the book had 4 more scenes like that, I would have found it much more appealing. It just seemed to be rather uneventful.
The male voice for the audio was pretty bad - he had sexy voice, but was trying too hard (his voice was oddly airy sounding at times) and it was hard to understand him during some lines.

Honestly very slay!

This book took me off guard, the way this book talks about death and living is just so peaceful. There really is no words to describe it. The way she talks about love and understanding is just amazing.

Mehhh…

I WANTED to be excited for this book. I really really did.. But.. I’m not sure that I really was. It was very hard to continue listening to. It wasn’t the worst I’ve listened to, but definitely not the best. 😕

Average story with spice

The characters in the story were a little one dimensional. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t incredible, and that’s OK. Not every story has to be world changing. I appreciated that it was fairly short, which was just the right amount of time for me to enjoy during my weekend. I would read other books by this author and I may return to listen to this book in the future, but probably not in the near future.

Unique and entwined premise, and steam!

Oooo, sexy. A complex premise and engaging story. That Death can love, I like it!
The BEST part is Shane East’s performance, no question. Fans of his work may hear this as pinnacle growly Shane; he never disappoints!
Nikki Grey delivers a convincing performance as well. Overall a very worthy listen. Recommend!

Entertaining short story

This is a great book to get for the narrators alone. They were fantastic. I really liked the story and it makes me want to check out this author's other books. I don't go for a lot of paranormal books but this was really good.

Emotional and beautiful with DUET NARRATION

This was quite an emotional journey. Lilith is lost and broken inside after losing everything in a car accident. She still has her boyfriend, but their relationship isn't the same as it was before the accident. Death haunts Lilith's every moment, but the more he comes to her, the more she finds herself yearning for his presence.

This was beautifully done. The narration with Nikki Grey and Shane East was fantastic, especially since it was done duet style. I know I will be listening to this again.

Great Quick Listen

I’m always a fan of Shane East, but this one was H-O-T hot! I especially loved that the characters voiced themselves in all chapters instead of the POV voicing all characters. Great quick listen.
