Abelard Hassam di Chirico Flint - Abel, for short - is a rich and silly mouse. He spends most of his days just having fun, going to picnics with his wife, playing croquet with friends, and dancing at parties. Unlike most other mice, Abel has never had to work for anything. All that changes one blustery fall day when his wife’s scarf flutters away in a gust of wind. Abel races off to rescue it and is swept away in a rainstorm. When the storm is over, Abel finds himself washed up a deserted island. To survive the winter, this pampered mouse will have to work hard at building a home and gathering food. Can he figure out a way to get off the island and return home - or is he stuck living by himself for the rest of his days? Awww I love Abel's Island. Just like I remembered

I loved listening to the narration of Abel's Island! So cute and love how he never lost hope. Such a great story. I remember reading this book when I was a kiddo and now listening to it I was able to understand it a lot better.

Good Book

My son, had to read this as part of his summer packet. He enjoyed it and write a good report about the book. I can see why, it was a Newberry Honor book. I like the author's style of writing, made me feel as if I was right there with Abel.

This reminds me of my childhood and is so touching for any kids. RECOMEND IT

Slayed the book super cute too

The book is so cute it slayed, not to mention that it was about a mouse ratatouille vibes

Lovable from Start to Finish

The frog is my favorite part. I laughed aloud at his antics! I aaked myself if so could survive or even thrive as Abel did.
