Quick and powerful audiobook

Great audiobook. Worth reading with Dr. Aziz other books about shyness.

Worth checking also "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and "Painfully Shy".

The sense of relatability

I could resonate with the author better the most relatable than any other self help books

Nothing new, but good narration.

No new concepts, but a great motivating voice. Will listen again, when I need a confidence boost and check in.

Good info, but repetitive.

There was some really good information in this book, but it sounds like every other recipe that every other self help book offers. If you haven't listened to any other books on building your self confidence, then this might be an option for you. Also, I found the author repeting the same idea over and over again. It's appropriate in this context (that of self-love, self-affirmations), but I found it to be a bit too much. A perfect example of what this book is, is at the very beginning - the author mentions a gentleman he worked with that was very shy, and that man overcame his shyness, using the methods he lays out in this book. He could have just told me quickly what they were, and then spent the rest of the book explaining - that would have put it all in contexr.

Refreshing and To The Point

Too many books are written from a position of self indulgence. You find that the whole thing could have easily been reduced to a pamphlet and gotten the job done with 25% less effort.

This book spares the reader of bloat and yet it’s inviting and useful.

The one criticism I have is that it seems to be written solely from the perspective of a man seeking connection with a woman. If I were a woman I think I’d be pretty put out by this perspective. Women have the same challenges at their core as men.

Be that as it may I found this book to be both informative and fun and I didn’t have to wade through oceans of personal antecdotes to get to the point.

High marks.

Good Concepts too much negative self talk examples

This is a good book with useful skills. I do not have negative self talk, and in every chapter it spends time referencing examples of various negative self talk, and putdowns people may have before getting to the skills to overcome. For me it was too much, I found myself fast forwarding those parts, which was the bulk of the story.
If you have negative self talk, this is an excellent book for you.
