Publisher's summary

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn is back with a hilarious new rom-com series.

Sometimes the wedding of the century calls for desperate measures.

And sometimes those desperate measures are to pretend the person you hate most is actually your boyfriend.

After years of working her tail off at her event-planning business, Maggie Mitchell is ready for a vacation. With nothing on her mind but R & R, she’s enjoying the warm weather of Bora Bora when in saunters Brody McFadden, her brother’s best friend and also her sworn enemy. Thanks to years of tension between the two—kicked off by a make-out session at her brother’s wedding that ended horribly—Maggie has sworn to stay away from the man. That is, until she finds out he’s in Bora Bora for his boss’s daughter’s wedding, hoping to use the trip to win a real future at the company.

Maggie promised herself she wouldn’t even think of work on the island, but as word spreads about the “wedding of the century” taking place in the midst of her vacation, she realizes offering her services as a bridesmaid and planner could bring her business to the next level. The only catch? She needs to pose as Brody’s girlfriend to get the job…while letting him stay in her peaceful bungalow.

Tensions rise, irritation flairs, and despite years’ worth of bickering behind closed doors, Maggie can’t quite squash the sparks building between her and her new fake boyfriend, especially when she learns the real reason their first kiss was cut short. But as the wedding day draws closer and everything starts to go wrong, it just might be Brody who sends Maggie’s business crashing down—and her heart along with it.

Love it.

True Meghan Quinn fashion…Love, Laughter & Spicy moments. This brother’s best friend/enemies to lovers book was the perfect listen. Broody has been told to stay away from Maggie for years by her brother (his best friend). But when the two windup at the same hotel in Bora-Bora, that forbidden romance becomes too hard to deny. There are some drunken mistakes and hurt feelings, that need healed for this couple to make it work.

This was the laugh out loud comedy I needed!

Bridesmaid for Hire had me in stitches from chapter one, with smart and witty humor. Maggie is on a much-needed vacation and ready to get her freak on in Bora Bora. Brodie is attending his boss’s daughter’s wedding, in hope to schmooze him so he will pick his project at work. Brodie’s best friend is also Maggie’s brother and there is some lip locking history between the two. When they run into each other they first think it’s the worst thing that could happen, but soon decide maybe they can work together to accomplish their goals. As they join the whole party for all their festivities leading up to the day, hilarity ensues, and feelings grow. Till the sleeping situation goes from Maggie’s face accidentally ending up on Brodies lap, to being there on purpose ;-) You may also hear some familiar names from other recent Meghan Quinn books, connecting them in small but significant ways.

I love love love love loved these two characters. Brodie was such a little cinnamon role of a character, a little nerdy and goofy to top it off. But don’t let his dorky sweet person fool you, behind those closed bedroom doors is a suave, dirty talking, edging BEAST. He really was the perfect character for me. Maggie was the perfect Yin to Brodie Yang. She is smart, strong willed, and bold. But just like Brodie, she has a different side to her as well, she is vulnerable but does not let a lot of people see. And when they both let their guards down, their already insane chemistry becomes off the chart, I thought my AirPods were going to set on fire. This audiobook was narrated in duet by Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon, and they were just perfect. The way the bring that already amazing banter off the page and to life is not something easily done but they did it in such a way, I could close my eyes and see the scene play out. These two heavy hitters brought the characters to life in such a big way.

It was funny

The banter between the MC's was good. I love that it was a duet style narration. It adds so much to the story. It brings it to life.
They just happen to be at the same place at the same time. But why didn't he have his own reservation?
The games were fun. The 3 legged race was hilarious! I feel bad for Brody. Everything that could go wrong, did. She was mean to him at times.
I hope for more Hardy and Hudson.

Funny & steamy

This was one of my favorite listens in a long time. It was so funny in the beginning and then a pseudo-slow burn. Then picked up and was so great.

Typical Meghan Quinn

Bridesmaid for Hire is fake dating, brother’s best friend, and hate to love. Knowing Meghan Quinn, it was going to be over the top for comedic value. The first part was funny, but the heroine was not aware of how immature she was. The hero kept having these mishaps that were later explained. Both pined for each other and neither communicated well. I liked the storyline, the romance was cute, so if you like fake dating and Meghan Quinn, you’ll like this one.

Laugh out loud romance!

MQ is an automatic buy for me, but this book was extra everything. I laughed out loud more than ever before- especially when the MMC describes how he loves the FMC’s eyes (IYKYK) 🤣 Both Brody and Maggie showed tremendous maturity during the inevitable conflict, and it was refreshing to see that in a romance, where so often the conflict is childish or contrived.

In this book, Maggie runs into her brother’s best friend Brody while on vacation. They end up in a fake relationship. It’s an enemies to lovers trope, sort of, but we quickly find out they’ve both been harboring feelings for years. The hilarity of the fake relationship + all the amazing side characters makes this book just WOW!

{Maggie is Hattie’s best friend, from another MQ series- Almond Bay. You can absolutely enjoy this as a standalone, but since I’ve read Hattie’s book, it was fun to see her pop in. The Cane Bros are also mentioned but don’t actually show up in the book- I love when mentions of characters from other books show up!}

The narrators are two of my faves, but Jason Clarke was especially hilarious and helped Brody come to life. Erin was amazing per her usual, and I love that it’s narrated in duet.

Really cute and funny!

Enjoyed Maggie’s story, she was so funny in Hattie and Hayes’ story and continued in this one - not to mention swooning for Brody - their bantering is so funny!

Good story

The over use of the F word. I felt it took away from the story.

Again a nice romance from Meghan Quinn

I think in the audiobook the main male character called birdie instead of brodie several times😂
