Publisher's summary

The dawn of an inconceivable act of treason rises. The stakes for America’s future have never been higher than in a gripping novel of suspense by the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of Deep Sleep.

When CIA officer Helen Gray died, her son, Devin, a countersurveillance expert, inherited her paranoia—and the explosive evidence that gave it weight: a vast, previously undetected Russian sleeper network has operated in the United States since the Cold War.

The cells aren’t just embedded in every level of state and federal government. They’ve penetrated corporations that supply crucial technology to the Department of Defense and various intelligence agencies. With the network’s true scope still unknown, the only way to drive a stake through the heart of the conspiracy is to dispatch a covert crew to Moscow and eliminate the oligarch bankrolling it.

Russia’s endgame: inconceivable. Devin’s challenge: stop the greatest threat to national security and world peace in history. The margin for error: nonexistent.

Tight plot and excellent characters!

An expertly crafted plot with fascinating characters that is all too plausible. The multi-generational sleepers inside of tech companies all to real to imagine. Steven hits another one out of the park!!!@

Thrill a minute, maybe 2!

Looked interesting so I grabbed it, it made no sense, I started over twice and realized it was book 2 of a series so I grabbed book 1. I’m glad I did, great story, great characters, a real page turner. But read “Deep Sleep” first.

This premise will keep you up at night

This could very well have happened. The storyline is current and terrifying. I thought it was about one part too long. Lots of violence and F bombs. Interesting the way agencies interacted, or didn’t

A Good Listen

I enjoyed this audiobook, but honestly, it had been a long time since I listened to the first book of the series that I had a hard time remembering and following along with the story in the beginning. It had some great action scenes though.

Fantastic Book! Steven Konkoly does it again!

I have been a fan of Konkoly’s books since his very first one, The Jakarta Pandemic. This one did not disappoint. It was very fast paced with a ton of action and wow, even some tears at the end!!

Heart pounding!!

This series is exciting and perfect for anyone who loves a good ‘spy’ story. Devin is smart and resourceful…and seems to get into trouble wherever he goes! Really enjoyed this book.

fun but kinda peters out

it was a good listen but the whole sleeper dissipates into a coup in the Eastern block at the end. overall good if you like konkoly but not as interesting on the villain side as i was thinking it would be.
