Publisher's summary

Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States has sold over 2.5 million copies and is still required reading in some high school and college classrooms. But its polemic rewriting of American history as a story of oppression is an agenda-driven fairy tale that has no place in academia. In Debunking Howard Zinn, Mary Grabar debunks Howard Zinn’s lies and traces the damage his mega-bestseller has done to American education, culture, and politics.

I always thought Zinn's book was anti American

Whenever I heard things about Zinn's book, I got the distinct impression it was an anti-American, pro-communist polemic. Turns out that impression was correct. not only that, but Zinn is a dishonest hack historian. Of course, Zinn was seeking revolution, not truth. Shame to learn how influential he's been as I recognized a lot of his ideas.

This book exposes Zinn as a complete fraud

I really enjoyed listening to the true history of the United States. Unfortunately communist like Zinn will lie to purposely divide and destroy America.

Truth is a tough thing. Tougher for leftists.

Zinn was the archetype of the ideologue professoriate the CPUSA worked so hard to embed in our society. Grabar does due diligence, a craft never apparently attempted by the proselytizing Zinn, in showing what history is and why Zinn's take is not just an intentional lie but a despicable anti-American lie that should be presented in our schools along with this debunking as a demonstration of the desperate and base levels to which Progressive educators will go to debase US citizens' will and understanding of the amazing, humane, and ethical political/economic system of government we enjoy. This should be required reading for anyone so myopic as to cite Zinn.

Truth shall set you free

I have heard Zinn's stories for years now
I never really believed them. What Mary wrote is closer to the truth than Zinn will ever get.

History Respected

I appreciated the thoroughness of Grabar's examination of Howard Zinn's, A People's History of the United States, in which he casts aside all humble historical examination to support his Marxist revolutionary zeal at any cost.

The narrator did an excellent work of making the text speak.

Amazing book!! Very important.

This book is incredibly important to read. It explains the lies, leading questions, reasoning fallacies and other falsehoods which Howard Zinn used… which have sadly permeated into every area of academia today.

6 stars please

Great methodical job of exposing untruths in Zinns book. Explains why so many millenials are confused about our great US history and in love with communism/socialism.

Excellent Work

Finally a much needed defense against Zinn's propaganda is brought to the public. Well done.

Slaughtering of Zinn

I knew this was a slaughter. When Grabar drop the atomic truth bomb on Zinn Chapter one. Similar to Dr Walter Martin went after heretics.

Graber exposed Zinn for the Communist that he represented. Graber debunked every lie Zinn presented in his books as someone who has no business teaching on university level and a fraud as a person.

Great read. Hoping for more books soon.

Historiography 101

Grabar has graded Zinn's purported work of history and gave him the grade he deserves—an F. It's the grade any graduate student would earn for abandoning any semblance of historical work and only delivering propaganda. Worse, he abandoned valued sources, used quotes out of context, and made assumptions based on his own desired outcome. Don't burn Zinn's book. Buy Grabar's book and learn the truth about how historiography should work. Pam Ward's narration really delivered.
