Publisher's summary

Owen Cullen was a dream. Not a dream come true though, because I’d never dared to dream. He was my wildest fantasy, a hallucination, a delusion. The handsome man who’d saved my life—twice. He was a real-life hero, and I was...what was I? Filth, that was what I was. The daughter of a gangster, the niece of the reigning king of Chicago’s underground. I tried my best not to fall in love with Owen. I tried not to mistake his kindness. I tried to remember the lessons of my youth: Love was a weakness. Sex was a weapon. It didn’t work. I fell in love. Then my uncle found me, and I ruined everything.

Natasha. It was a fake name. One she’d made up on the fly when my team had rescued her from a life worse than death. She had no place to go, so I took her home. It was supposed to be temporary, just until we learned who she was. But the woman proved to be stubborn and kept her secrets buried deep. She’d lived with me for months, and every day the pull of her called to me. I was living a nightmare of my own making. I didn’t trust women, especially the one sleeping in my guest bedroom. I’d fought the good fight. I’d held out for as long as I could. Then all of her secrets came out, but it was too late. I was in too deep. Natasha, the beautiful woman with no last name, was mine. But it turned out that she had a last name—Pollaski.

Everything came crashing down.

I was no stranger to the battlefield. I was used to blood, guts, and no glory. What I wasn’t accustomed to was the feeling of my heart being torn from my chest. What I was not acquainted with was desperation. Natasha was gone, and I had less than 24 hours to find her, or she’d be gone in a different way.

Welcome back to Z Corp and Special Forces—Operation Alpha. New team, new former military heroes. Like the teams that have come before, Owen, Gabe, Myles, Kevin, and Cooper are ready for action.

Owen and Natasha

I am so excited with to get to know the Z Corps crew! I loved Natasha and he need to be more even if her family has put her through the worst things possible. She’s a good person who’s life was harder than one would want it to be but it didn’t break who she was. There were so many things that she was taught being in her family and many things witnessed that destroyed her. The became someone that she wasn’t but still she was She had to learn how worthy and relevant she was.

Owen had was stuck in the past; a past that was destroying his present and future. He didn’t trust but the feelings he had for Natasha and her quirkiness has taken over his mind. The idea of anyone touching her, teaching her anything or basically taking her attention away from him can’t be tolerated. The time getting to know each other and allowing their feelings to happen was hard but both of them taught each other something that speared the relationship along.

Sebastian York and Janine Granda were the perfect duo to take on this story! I loved how these characters came to life with each spoken word!

Great story!

Great story! Love the characters but the beginning of the book felt like I was starting from the middle of the book. Trying to figure out who everyone was and the storyline was definitely confusing in the beginning, and didn’t ease you into the story. I wish it started with her rescue as the prologue to give a little back story.

A great story to listen to

I really liked it. Fabulous start to this new series. I enjoyed seeing Natasha/Sarah and Owen grow as a couple. If you prefer to listen, the narrators did a great job. I have listened to Sebastian York before but this was the first time I’ve heard Janine Granda perform. I really enjoyed listening to her.

Owen

This one wasn’t one of my favorites. Hope next in the series does say GD every other sentence and would like more story line and less sex scenes. I understand that there is sex when people fall in love but this one has 2 chapters of sex and then 1 chapter of story and then the cycle began again. I was just expecting more story since I’ve read all your other series and they were great.

Protective, sweet, will the burn the world down to

Protective, sweet, will the burn the world down to protect his woman, sweet, will the burn the world down to protect his woman, even if he is still denying it, hero?... check. Strong, fierce (even if she feels broken) woman who unknowingly has all the Z Corps men at her back ready to fight tooth and nail? Check. Natasha was introduced a couple books back in the Z Corp world and she made an impression, and I knew her and Owen's book would be amazing once I got my hands on it. I was not disappointed. Edge of your seat suspense, action, tons of danger, some humor to lighten the emotions, and torturing heartstrings as two people fight admitting the love they've fallen into...and Sebastian York's narration (I love his voice) make for a amazing journey to start Blue Team's trek. Janine Granda also does a superb job with her side of the narration. I loved getting glimpses into the rest of the men of Blue Team and can't wait for them to fall.

Blue Team, New Series!!!

Owen is the first book of The Blue Team from the Special Forces Operations Alpha series by Riley Edwards, with the Blue Team working along side our favorites from the Red and Gold Teams!
Ok, so I listened to this book instead of reading it first and I love it but let me talk just a little about the 2 narrators, Janine Granda and Sebastian York. I will start with Janine Granda. I have not heard her in a book before so this was a real treat. Being the first book in the series, having a fresh voice added to the suspense of the story line! She did an incredible job as Natasha! Now, Sebastian York. I had a hard time putting him in this character but only because I had heard him in a few other ones that were not military type themed books. In my mind, he was still the billionaire that I repeated listened to. But, he is an incredible narrator and I was easily able to refocus on him and the character he was and really enjoyed the scenes as he expressed them like none other than Sebastian York could! I love that these 2 were paired together to do that.
Owen and Natasha, both strongly attracted to one another but neither one would act on it leaving the story to slowly build you up! Owen saves Natasha from a horrible life when the team found her while rescuing Eva and because she had no place to go he took her home with him so that he could continue to protect her. After being burned by his ex-wife, Owen had no plans to search for or believe anything other than protection would ever come from her being there so he was safe! Or he thought….
Natasha kept too many secrets because she wanted to protect everyone so giving herself up to her uncle to save everyone from the teams that rescued her was the logical idea but Zane and Owen wouldn’t let that happen. Now, she finds herself hiding out with Owen in a secluded area playing house. She is safe to make her own choices and hopefully free to act on them, until her uncle finds her and she prays Owen finds her in time before it is too late!
Riley Edwards did not disappoint and I am excited to follow along with the Blue Team and watch each of them find the HEA just as the Red and Gold Team did!

Love Owen & Natasha's Story

This was action packed from the start!! I love Owens fierce protection of Natasha & their love story is just beautiful!! Natasha has dealt with A LOT of past trauma & Owen has his own demons to deal with BUT they come through it & Riley writes their story so wonderfully it gets you through the tough abuse/trauma. I look forward to rest of the Books in this Series.

this was okay.. not the best

Owen & Natasha: triggers- prostitution, drugs, gambling, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, kidnapping, PTSD. I have to say that this is not my favorite book from Riley Edwards but with that said, I should say that it's mostly because of the female character. Natasha has been saved by and is currently living with and under the protection of Owen and his team. Her family is like Mafia or bratva or something definitely organized crime and get Uncle is trying to kill her. Natasha is very self deprecating, calling herself dirty and trash and not worth it on a regular basis. It's actually for most of the book. 🙄 Despite being a victim of circumstance. And she's very awkward and thanks Owen for everything. The two have feelings for each other but because she's so shut down it's not something we see until halfway or more through the book. Because of this, I didn't really feel a connection between Natasha and Owen. I loved the main plot but the romance portion of the story fell short for me. I didn't have a chance to fall for the characters together because of everything going on. This was just okay... But I've read better from Ms Edwards.

Awesome read....err listen.

The writing is fantastic. It is flawless, funny and real. But the best part that adds the most realism is the narrarators and their intonation. They aren't just flat reading...they are acting their parts.
